My daughter's head was never cone-shaped. They put her on my belly right after she was born, and her head was perfectly round.
I think if it is cone-shaped, it goes down in a few hours to a couple of days.

after 3 deliveries, none of my kids had the cone shaped heads. They all came out perfectly round, but I do know that most go back to round pretty quickly and some stay coned up for awhile. My ex sister in law had a cone head for a few weeks.

I had a 36 hour natural birth and my daughter's head was never cone-shaped. She had a sweet round baby head from the beginning. That doesn't always happen. But, if it does, it will round out in a few weeks.

You are worrying about nothing. How many people do you see with abnormal heads because of birth???????? Yes sometimes the babies head will seem out of shape from pushing or even forceps, but this will go after a few days, there may be some swelling after birth especially if forceps are used, this too is common and will also go after afew days. Forceps are only used if the baby gets a little stuck, so you may not have to use them. Try not to worry and good luck.

it does go away very quickly usually within a few days the head shape is normal looking
my daughter was delivered vaginally and was slightly turned at an angle so she has an almost lopsided head 3 months later!drs say as she spends more time sitting up it will go away.
if your child has a really odd shaped head there are special little headbands you can get or a little helmet that will shape the head.im pretty sure those are used in extreme cases though

There is no time frame how long it will take. Sometimes babies will go months with the shape of a cone head.

neither one of my children had cone shaped heads. They just fit right through the birht canal. So if you havent delivered yet than dont be afraid of it happening. Sometimes it snot noticable sometimes I hear it can stay like that a while. But i would say very quickly they're heads go back to normal. Considering the bones are realyl bones and in teh skull they arent realyl put together. They are kinda liek a bunch of pieces getting ready to toughen up and "snap" together. Good Luck adn Congrats!!!

with my first child (who dropped 6 wks before birth), it took less than 24 hours. The other 4's heads weren't misshappened enough to notice.

A day or two =) Isn't it weird how it does that? It doesn't matter though...you will still think they are beautiful - cone head or not!

My son's went to normal about 3-4 hours after I had him. It could take longer or shorter, it really depends.
