It's the oldest family feud in history. Arabs and Jews are both the children of Abraham and they hate each other.

I find it funny how both the Bible and the Koran subscribe to this theory.

Islam does not hate Israel... Islam is a religion! Quite a few Muslims hate Israel for various reasons, and they are the adherents to Islam. Though many Jews and Christians hate the way Israel was formed, and acts as well. So I guess it should be asked, why do people hate Israel? Though that question would take a book to answer, lol.

It is not Islam but the Leaders of Islam who hate, and teach their followers to hate Israel.
The Peoples of both Countries were getting along fine back in 1944. The trouble started when the United Nations gave Israel their own Country.
The Arab Religious Leaders, The Tribal Chiefs, and others who hated the Jews, joined together, and have been taking over the Arab Countries, and the Islamic Religion, for years. They keep growing in Power because the Free World does not want to see the truth. This Happen before in 1933 when Hitler was starting the takeover of Germany.
For some unknown reason, reasonable People fail, or refuse to recognize Danger when it rears its Ugly Head. It is either Fear, ignorance, a combination of both, or some other stupid unknown reason, why Free People refuse to defend themselves and others until it is ALMOST TOO LATE.
What we have now is Iran as Germany, and its President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as Hitler.
What up World, before Millions die, just to show you the Truth!

It's really Muslim Arabs that hate Israel - even though secular Arabs like Sadam, and non-Arab Muslims, as in Iran, jump on the bandwagon, too.

It's mostly history. Arab culture is not big into the forgiveness thing, and it's considered perfectly rational to avenge yourself on the descendent of someone who wronged an ancestor of yours. In the case of Israel, the grudge really goes back to the fall of the Ottoman empire, when the victorious European powers divided up the middle east amongst themselves rather than allow the Arabs self-rule. When, after WWII, Arab self-rule had largely become a reality, the one critical bit of land that contained Jerusalem - the British Mandate of Palestine - was to be divided up between the Jews and Arabs. The Arab states rejected this, and the whole mandate became the state of Israel. A series of wars ensued, but the (relatively secular) Arab states of the time couldn't destroy Isreal.

That was a humiliating failure - and, the Arab culture isn't exactly big on humility, either - in the ensuing decades, secular pan-Arabism gave way to radical Islam as a unifying force in the Arab world. Islam inheritted the grudge against Israel, and must avenge wounded Arab pride to cement it's power.

In the old testament the eldest son got the fathers greatest blessing. Ishmael was Abraham's first born son, with Hagar an Egyptian handmaid . Genesis 16:1-16 (Hagar and Ishmael).

But the promise of GOD to Abraham of Abraham becoming the Father of many Nations was through a son with his wife Sarah. Genesis 15:1-21(Abraham's Covenant).

The Promise of a son with Sarah his wife - Genesis 18:1-15

God Tests Abraham( Genesis 22:1-19)
To see how much Abraham loved and trusted GOD. GOD showed Abraham of what HE was going to do.

Abraham did not have to sacrifice his only begotten son Isaac (as in the only son promised).

JESUS fulfilled this command, and GOD sacrificed HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. (the only one promised, and the only one sent by GOD from heaven to dwell in the flesh and fulfilled Abraham's promise from GOD, to become The Father of Many Nations.

For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten SON that whosoever believeth in HIM shalt not parish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I had to get my Bible out to answer this question, this is long and I'm sorry I hate long posts.

Abram and Sarai could not bare a child, so Abram had a child with Hagar (his maid servant). She bore Ishmael. Well later God talked to Abram and renamed Abram, Abraham and Sarai, Sarah. After that God gave Abraham a son (Isaac). Sarah had no need for Ishmael or Hagar so she sent them into the desert to be killed. They escaped and it is believed that they formed the Islamic religion.

Family feud like Brian says.

Ishmael and Isaac, the sons of Abraham are brothers. Abraham preferred Isaac over Ishmael.

Ishmael is the father of the Arabs, Isaac is part of the Jews.
