Why are nearly three-fourths of Americans liberal, terrorist-appeasing, Bush-bashing, America-haters?

Why do so many U.S. citizens hate freedom?

It's okay, wingspan. I'm used to it. Even my name doesn't give me away.

lol Yes, Bruce B, it is VERY absurd. Lately, I've tried to embrace the absurd, in an effort to feel like part of the crowd.

Someday I may win the war with myself. Someday I, too, may come to love Big Brother.

Showtunes, I'm sort of flattered that you fantasize about me like that, but I don't really embrace the gay lifestyle. Sorry, but I'm just not your type.

Nope. It means probably 70% or so don't approve of the job Bush is doing. 4-5% usually respong "no opinion".

First, a word about polls:

Most are contracted out to an ad agency, which in turn pulls up a phone list, calls, asks a question or two, and tallies the answers.

The phone list is probably no more than about 1,500 numbers.

One CNN poll I ran down (several years ago) consisted of 1,500 numbers centered in the Bryn Marr area of Pennsylvania, even though it was advertised as a 'national poll'. Nothing against central PA residents who own a phone, but they don't quite speak for the entire nation.

A "26% approval rating" is a catchy phrase. Why the word, 'rating'? Why not simply 'approval'? Something else is at work, here.

Finally the question (I assume) was not "Do you approve or hate?", but "Do you approve or disapprove?" The respondents might have disapproved of one thing, but not another.

That they disapprove of the overall job the President is doing does not mean they automatically hate the country, or freedom, or democracy, or even -- Brussels Sprouts, for that matter.

No, those are assumptions. Broad assumptions, probably as broad as the poll. Too broad, to be of any serious use.

Finally, as low as those results appear to be, what were the same pollsters reporting about Congressional ratings?

Snarling at our elected officials, both large and small, is an historical national past-time. We call it freedom of speech.

This means more of the majority of Americans know why we have a U.S. Constitution. The ones who are against him are actually the patriotic ones because by protecting the Constitution and not wanting someone who abuses it to lead, they are standing up for their Constitutional rights. The Constitution was made for the people and by the people. It also was made so as not to have the President and Vice-President overstepping their boundaries. Back then, the King of England held his power over all the people here, he also taxed them very highly without reasonable cause. The people of the U.S. colonies were ruled by a dictator overseas. The Constitution was made to give people their freedoms and to make sure the rulers of the country represented the people and did not become dictators, the very reason we seperated from England at the time. The majority against Bush loves freedom. We are afraid we will lose it eventually if Bush continues to rewrite laws and ignore the freedoms we were given many years ago. More of our freedoms are slowly being taken away now. Why would you want to live under a dictator?

i think of the latter is extra precise. maximum of his supporters refuse to admit they have been incorrect. they might extremely come for the time of as delusional idiots than to basically admit they have been duped with the help of Bush. those are the those that declare each and every video of Bush mendacity is doctored and pretend. it particularly is their way of denying all info earlier they even pay attention them. In different words, they have already got their minds made up earlier the story is released with the help of the media. If it makes Bush seem good then it must be actual. If it exhibits Bush to be the mendacity moron that he's then they're going to easily say that's a lie and under no circumstances examine the story or learn the information. that is prepared lack of expertise and those individuals are the reason the Republicans lost the modern-day election with the help of a extensive landslide. human beings do no longer desire to be linked with ignorant morons.

Okay, clam down. America was built on the ability to freely express your opinion. So people should be able to express their opinions without being called "un-American."

They "hate freedom?" Well, you must have a different definition of freedom then because freedom means the ability to have your own opinion, not agreeing with what ever the President does. So many people no longer like Bush because of the things that he has done, the immigration bill, the attorney firings scandal, NSA wiretapping, PATRIOT act.

So, you say people who are against bush are anti-American, and hate freedom. Well, in my opinion, it seems like you are the one who is un-American and hates freedom. Because if you didn't hate freedom then you wouldn't have a problem with people not liking Bush.

P.S.-I see no sarcasm in this. Maybe I'm missing it...

No that means that 74% of Americans are tired of his flagrant abuse of power. I voted for Bush but now I would have to say he is the worst president ever. I would have to say that the real Americans are interested in preserving the constitution which Bush has trampled over.
Don't call me un American, I fought for this country. Bush never has that is why it is so hard for him to understand the ramifications of war.
Majority rules, that is the way of Democracy. If you don't like it then I suggest that you are the one hating America.

ah, yet another definition for Freedom..

Freedom: The act of sticking your head in the sand , while our president Ravages a Foreign Land (making sure to keep plenty of Guards on duty around Daddy's Precious Oil Fields),under the ruse of Fighting Terrorism ,and while Simultaniously Raping those of us back home everytime we stop in at the Gas Pumps, all (Of Course) in the name of God and Country. (Man> if i was God, I'd be really PO'ed at Bush right now. and that's all i'm gonna say about that).

I mean, that MUST be The new definitition Of "FreedOm" , Because that's why i hate that Hypocritical Piece of Dross.

~Laurie < one of the 74th Percentile.

PS i also hate him because he is trying to take control of women's bodies and because, he is keeping us from advancing in the area of StemCell Research and He has done barely a Damn Thing about helping the PPl of New Orleans .

OMG! Not to mention that having someone with his limited brain capacity in such a position of Power scares the living sh*t outta me,on a daily basis.
I'm even thinking... If we Make it thru his Reich without him getting us blown up, maybe i'll be able to cut back on my Xanax. ; )

No it doesn't mean Americans hate America it means America hates Bush. U.S. citizens don't hate freedom either. Can't wait until G.W. is out of the White House & that goes double for the devil himself(Dick Cheney)

No, I have said it before but I will say it s l o w l y this time. If Bush's approval rating is at an all time low of 26% percent than that means 74% don't like Bush. Now if it was America's approval rating was at 26% then you might be right.......

It's right there in your question
BUSH'S APPROVAL RATING

To the contrary, it means 74% love America. If you want to see this country given to the Mexicans, support Bush. If you want to see your neighborhood invaded by latin kings and MS gangs, support Bush. If you want to be taxed to pay for retirement benefits for 12,000,000 illegals support Bush. If you want open borders and millions of more illegals enter the country, suppport Bush. If you want your sons and daughters in the middle of a civil war so that the rich can get richer, support Bush

I don't think they hate America, they just don't like W. And given his track record as Pres., I sympathize. But I do think ppl tend to blame the Pres. for everything when it really isn't all his fault. You had ppl who blamed everything on Clinton during his Presidency and that wasn't right either.
But it is saying something when W has the lowest approval rating since Nixon.
