MySpace can be as innocent or as sexually as anyone wants it to be. If you say that you are 13 our profile can be marked as private and only people that you invite to be your friends can see your page.
I am 23 and I moved away from my hometown about 3 years ago. I enjoy using MySpace to keep in touch with old classmates and childhood friends. I keep it clean and have no problems whatsoever on MySpace. I do not talk to anyone that I do not know.
It just depends on how you use MySpace. If someone asks to be your friend and you do not know them... you can decline the invite. Easy as that!

Yes I know because I am 14 almost and will be 15 on august 25. Well anyway if your worrying about sexual predators all you have to do is set the settings so that only your friends can see the profile and only friends can messege you.Or if someone adds you,you can set it up so that it requires your last name or email to add you as a friend.

the only people who myspace is not safe for are the idiots who put their phone number, address, etc. on their page. dont talk to strangers and if you do dont be an idiot. myspace is designed to help people keep in touch and meet new people. but the same as just meeting someone off the street be smart what you tell them. if you dont want a stranger to know all about you then either set you profile to private or just dont put the information up. you and your myspace is as safe as you make it

Not sure what your age etc is but I think myspace is as safe as you let it be. (or not)
My son has an account - I monitor it daily. His profile is private. I also frequently check his IM contacts and ask who everyone is. If he doesnt know first hand they get deleted. (Oh I think that's Johnny's sisters, cousins neighbors dog walker - NOT they are deleted!) I have his passwords and that is the only way he is allowed to have these things. It is up to the parents to be pro-active in setting rules, expectations etc.

Depends how you set it up!!!
If you put your profile on private, set it so that you do not show up in searches, if someone wants to add you as a friend make it so that they must know your last name or email address, set all pictues to private, don't put your real age, city and state, birthday, and last name. Only add people that you know in real life....when you create a profile it will ask if you want all of this done.
It can be safe if you set it up to be.

Why would a 14 year old be less likely to be a stalking target than a 13 year old. That site is a haven for predators preying on fools and the naive. Your question clearly puts you in the naive group. Stay off of it.

its as safe for a 7 year old as it is for a 70 year old. But I personally don't think its dangerous. Unless your dumb and put out all your info. You can make your profile "private" so only people you have added can see it. You can also make it so only people who know either your email address or last name can add you. So as long as you do that, and only add people you know, your good.

If you are under 16 then myspace will automatically give you a private account, so only people on your friends list can see your account, I'm not sure if you can turn this off till your 16, but i would leave it on just in case.

It would be safe for a 14 year old if you had your profile set on private, and only people who knew your last name could message you. OR if your parent/gardian helped you set it up and checked with you. Have secruitey tho!!

It is safe if you set your profile to private.
If you really don't want to put your profile to private, then just don't put a lot of information on your page & be careful with pictures because some crazy people out there take your pictures. It's weird.
& don't talk to people you don't know, just keep it between you & your friends :]
