A drunk man never lies?

Question

Is it true that a drunk man never lies? If you want the truth - get him drunk? My husband isn't really open with his emotions. I mean he tells me he loves me and shows it sometimes but for the most part is too stressed about work to be preoccupied with me. I really take it personally, I am a very sensitive person. But when he is drinking, he is so loving and caring. Sometimes even cries when he talks about how much he loves me. Even though he doesnt show it that much, am I right to assume that the way he is when he is drinking, is the way he really feels about me?

People do tend to be more emotional when consumed by alcohol. When he's drinking he's more relaxed. Usually, all those stressful things on their minds are put on the back burner. He loves you...... You two need a vacation!

Oh hell yeah! some people have problems because there mean drunks, and the meanness of there innards comes out when they've been drinking, and others do wierd things cause they've also got wierd innards, but a big loving drunk is about as pure as people get. More then other drinks, people call wine the drink of truth. If you think hes been holding back any secrets go to store and pick up a bottle or two of delicious spansh wine. Other then that, enjoy your man when sober and enjoy your man drunk.

As much as it would be nice to count on that 100% of the time you can't. I was married to someone that showed me so much attention and affection when he was drinking and expressing his love, but he would also say he wasn't screwing around and he would never blah blah. Though I believed he loved me back then in a very twisted way, he didn't always tell the truth when drunk, he only told me what I wanted to hear. Your husband needs to learn how to seprate work from home or not only will it be the death of your marriage but will shorten his life from all the unhappiness in his heart. On a happy note...your husband probably does love you, try asking him if he is happy with you and in love with you while he is sober.

Drunks lie too, I was married to one for over 7 years. To be honest I wouldn't waste my money on the booze. Some men find it difficult to show emotion, it is the way they are conditioned by parents. You should feel he loves you, you really don't need to be told do you, although I agree it is nice now and again.

Nope. Nobody says the truth or lie when is drunk. Even drunk we keep conscious, and we know what are we doing. Alcohol, sometimes, give us that force to quit the inhibitions that have take us over. But, that doesn't mean that you will say something that you didn't have the strength to say it when you aren't drunk.

I don't know what to say. I find it quite odd that you like the things he says when he's drunk. My husband doesn't drink, and he is kind of like your husband. He's not very open with emotions, or words. However, I know by his actions that he cares for me. Remember, actions are much stronger than words. Even if your husband does not say those three magic words out loud, you can tell by the way he treats you if he loves you. =)

something doesn't seem right. if your husband loves you, you should be able to tell by his actions not just words.

the way he treats you, the way he honors you, the was he defends you, etc. not all men are emotional and certainly talkative. men usually don't express their feelings too well but as a woman you should be able to feel your husband's love.
life sometimes also gets in the way and produces a lack of communication, but try to speak to your husband with kind words and encouragement. that will help him be the same way with you. don't encourage him to drink for him to tell you what he feels.

Sounds like the drinking lets him relax enough about the stuff that's bothering him (work) to get in touch with his feelings for you. I think there's a kernal of truth in the emotions/statements of drunk people, but they get too distorted by people's reaction to ethanol to be taken strictly at face value.

He has been telling you everyday without saying a word by working so hard and you are not listening. When a man goes to work everyday or takes out the trash he is saying I love you! Men are more physical women are verbal, pay attention to what he does everyday, that is the biggest I love you, you could ever get!

they do claim that the truth often does come out when a person is drunk, it was true in my case with my ex. when he was drunk truth came out of his mouth that normally would not have come out.
