Kerry, please listen: 1) empirical evidence for evolution is everywhere, from the flu shots you have to get every year (because it mutates, changing over time...) to the bones of dinosaurs and other extinct animals dug up from the ground, that we can carbon date. We can reasonably determine from different animals fossilized remains that they evolved over time, going from one species to another. 2) the animals we see today are typically not the same ones that were around back then. For instance, we didn't evolve directly from the monkeys and apes around today, but we all came from a common ancestor: apes and humans came from a common ape ancestor, primates came from a common primate ancestor. 3) please go read more about this. Or ask a biologist to explain things further.
