Hey! Im entering sixth grade and i need the hip tip-from an older student wiht experience. Should I bring a purse? How much make-up should I wear? What clothes? What will it be like? Please dont post 1 sentence answers. Thnx -m

Heyy! I was in 6th grade last year, I'm going into 7th this year.
Purse - Yes, perferably a designer purse. Most girls will have Coach purses if your school is like mine. (Large public school in NY)
Make-up- Just clear/brown mascara and lip gloss, and if you can apply it VERY VERY thinly, then brown eyeliner. Oh, and a quality concealer for zits if needed. Anything else and you will most likely be talked about.
Clothes- Everyone (popular girls, and most girls) will wear Abercrombie & Hollister. The richer kids will sometimes wear Juicy Couture, but mostly Abercrombie/Hollister.
6th grade is a big transfer. You will have lots of new classes. This is the grade where popularity is VERY important. If you plan on being popular & you're pretty; go to wikihow.com and go to the Teenagers category and look around, it helped me a lot. Otherwise, find some true friends that you have a great time with. But don't be popular for the wrong reasons, and don't be mean. If you backstab people a lot, you will have your 15 periods of fame ( a couple of days ), then you will be hated. So, be nice to everyone, give compliments, care about grades, have your homework, try not to get too many enemies. Oh, and there will be lots of drama! =[ You may lose a couple of friends because of drama, even if you try to say sorry. I lost 2 this year. =[ It sucks, but it happens. Besides that? heyy, i am entering 9th grade next year so i know what it is like. Go minimal with the makeup. Only put on mascara and maybe eye liner, but no eyeshadow, because it looks tacky...but if you do decide to wear it, don't make it be the same color as your shirt, because that looks really weird. Put on some clear or pink lip gloss and nothing else. Also if you bring a purse, try to get one from guess (www.guess.com) because you will be talked about if you don't have a "designer" purse (gossiping is so common with 6th grade girls) and wear designer clothes too, like hollister,abercrombie,and american eagle...well good luck next year!!

Don't try to grow up before your time! I'm 56 and don't wear too much make-up. Unlike you, I want to look young. How about trying a little lip gloss for color to make you feel special and maybe some soft-scented perfume. Leave the mascara, eyeshadow and heavy make-up for future years or really special occasions like a relative's wedding. And, keep the clothes simple, too. You'll be much happier if you save your money for more important things.
I think hip messenger bags are cool for 6th graders because they are in-between a purse and a back pack.
How about concentrating on really hip shoes?

Yeah you're like 11. Don't need makeup. I dont trust the public so I dont carry a purse. What would you put in it anyway? Dont bring anything to school you dont want stolen. When I was in grade school I had a wallet stolen, my lunch, nice pens, and anything else that wasn't nailed down. Even my winter coat once! Leave it all at home. Dont worry about what all the other little bitches think of you because none of them will matter in a few years. Be yourself and stand by who you are. Can you tell I hated grade school?

Well I just came from 6th grade. I'm going into 7th grade. It's gonna be alot of fun. Well for the clothes capirs, the little net slippers, belts that you wear over your shirt. Also, wear shirts that's long but I'm talking about the nice fit ones. Short sleeve hoodies. And you should carry a purse. But make sure it's not that big. That's it. But, I think you shouldn't wear makeup. Wear lip gloss. And maybe some nail polish.

If you seriously want to wear makeup wear it light. A small amount of liquid eyeshadow with glitter mostly white and spread it evenly. Curl your eyelashes with a small amount of mascara to curl them better. Now the clothes a cotton or cloth skirt with a tank top would look really cute but not childish. A white tank top is probably the right color to go with the eye shadow. No blush unless you know the exact color for your skin tone then a very light stroke of blush. A small layer of pink lip gloss would be appropriate. A purse would be nice for your pencils and pens and your lip gloss but maybe if you have a locker or a backpack you can keep it in their if you have second thoughts.

Im going into 10th grade. And when I was your age I thought I was all cool and stuff.... going into midle school and all. But really its know big deal. You don't need make-up. And trust me, you wont be the only one there without it. Wear what you want.
By the time you work your way up to become "popular", its gone down the drain by the time your in high school. So just try and be your self, and don't change for anyone. Because you won't be happy.

Take it from a teenage guy, you don't need it. If you honestly think that what makes you look good is your clothes and make-up, you need some help with your self-esteem.
A purse is an accesory. You use it to cary stuff. !?!?
Make up? 6th grade...that makes you...about 12 or 13? BAH!! you don't need make up!!
Clothes? What do YOU think you look good in?
What's 6th grade like? It sucks. Middle school is the worst, my friend. Everyone is immature. And if you try and look 'sexy' for it, you'll end up being bashed for it.

hey i just finished 6th grade!
clothes- abercrombie, hollister, some time american eagle. wear a lil bit of juicy couture.
make-up- eyeliner, lip gloss, and sometimes mascara
shoes- uggs, adidas, pumas, flip-flops from A&F and hollister,
if you bring a purse, it MUST be desinger like coach.
6th grade will be the best year ever! its not as scary as you think. make a lot of friends, DO NOT be mean to people. be friendly and outgoing and funny., and get a bf.

Um, hun, you're in SIXTH GRADE. Don't wear makeup, that's like trying to grow up too fast and you are too young to look "hot" and sure bring a purse but a small one and not something "fancy" because like I said, too young. Clothes, just wear fitted jeans and shirts, nothing like tube tops or something because you are too young. It will be fun but different because of all the new things. But you'll get used to it pretty soon. It's harder but not that hard at all.
