Women aren't lazy. Periods just suck. You must be very young, child.
When you get older, they get worse. Much worse. Cramps can be blinding to some women, especially those with conditions like endometriosis. Over the counter medications won't even touch them. Women get moody, weepy, irritable, and they're in pain! And tampons work, yes. But there are times when you can't rush to the bathroom when you feel like you need to, so accidents happen.
Get a hobby, and don't ask questions like this. All it's going to do is piss a bunch of women off, and if they're "lazy" women on their periods, that's not a good thing.

Honestly, the cramping is never my issue, why I HATE having a period is it's gross. Simple as that. Having this nasty, sometimes mildly odd smelling bloody mess oozing out of your vagina each month, gee, why would ANY woman hate that?! lol... sorry, but I just despise it. And it's embarassing. I hate going in to change a tampon only to have this thought going through my mind of who can hear me unwrapping those uncomfortable little buggers, making it that much more obvious I'm on the rag. Sorry, but I HATE HATE HATE it. And ironically, since being married for basically 5 years, I've had my period maybe 6 times due to getting pregnant and then nursing, so I guess I shouldn't really complain! :)

Are you a man???? Or are you a young teenage girl who hasn't had a real period yet?
I hate my periods because I have endometriosis.... do you even know what that is? It's when your menstrual blood can leak into your abdominal cavity and cause pain and lesions... sounding fun yet? It also causes irregular periods that are hard to be prepared for so you might get a suprise at a very inconvenient time! I also have severe cramps, heavy flow, and extreme PMS.... now that I read that I am wondering why I don't love having my period?!?! And then there's the obvious no sex thing.... that just makes me hate it more.

It's not that simple for every woman. Many deal with cramps that are unbearable and aren't fixed just by popping in a few advil. Many women also deal with flows that a simple tampon doesn't help because it's so heavy and there's clotting along with that. It's also just a pain in the *** to deal with the mess, the pain, the fatigue, back aches, and whatever else may come as symptoms to different women. Sometimes people's periods also last way longer than others and it's just a huge inconvenience.

Sorry, but pain relievers really don't take care of the cramps. They can be disabling. And you forgot the nausea, bloat, grumpiness, etc that most of us have with our periods. If you can have a painless period with just a couple of Midol, then good for you. But don't judge those of us who have serious problems every month at that time.
On heavy-flow days, a woman might have to change her tampon every hour -- and finding a rest room that often is not always possible, so we wear pads with our tampons and still get blood on our clothes. Then there's the strange body odor that comes with periods -- I can always tell when another woman is menstruating from the smell, and deodorant does nothing, because it flows out of every pore of the body.
Don't try to be condescending and accuse those of us with difficult periods of being "lazy." Period pain and the other monthly problems are all too real, and they do not have easy fixes.

It's defenitly true you can take medication and have all those tampons and stuff. Fact is, women are human and so what if we complain about having our periods? We give birth, we take after almost everybody but ourselves, we are treated like ****, and even in todays soicety we are less human than man, and on top of all that we get our damn periods.
Another great reason is because periods make some of us hungry, and no one in the whole effing world likes a fat, hormonal woman. So, do us a favor and don't ask dumb questions.

Brigette dear it sounds like you haven't had your period for very long.
I'd say that it's worth a wager that most women don't like their vaginas to bleed for a week. If I didn't have a period, I wouldn't mind. It gets in the way of sex, and it can be messy, crampy, and generally unpleasant.
If you happen to be the kind of (young) woman who doesn't mind, good for you! Your no-bullshit attitude will make periods easy for you to accomodate.
However, casting brash judgements on others' situations is simply immature and uncalled for.

Because for some women pain relief doesn't make a difference, tampons are useless and contribute to the pain. Also, some women have underlying problems that are made worse when having a period

Sometimes it's obvious, and some people are very self concious about it. Also, besides mood swings-people can get severe depression during periods and not want to tell anyone-including doctors, which equals no antidepressants....now do you think that's healthy?! Cramps and a mess are not all a period is...please inform yourself hun. =]

Well if you have cramps that don't respond to pain relievers and you pass clots so that your pad and tampons leak no matter how absorbent and you are so sick you have to spend a couple days in bed I would say that qualifies as a reason to hate your period.
