When the circus comes to town, there is usually a parade that attracts a large crowd. Not everyone who goes to the parade goes to the circus or supports the circus. They are only there because it is a free form of entertainment.

Because that is the POINT of the parade - for people to be themselves (gay, straight, or anything in between), and to support the cause...

The idea behind the circus is FUN - and that's what people come out to have...

The annual Santa Claus Parade is to celebrate the holiday spirit - and that's exactly what happens...

So you think the people going to the circus are anti-circus?

Have you ever attended a gay pride parade? If you had you would see the overwhelming support we receive from the straight community.

And Honey parades ARE a form of entertainment - that is just icing on the cake!

When I bring my family to an Independence Day parade - I know, as a black family that, that day wasn't meant for my ancestors - HOWEVER, it is the principle of the thing. I know that my freedoms in this country are secure because of it and that is all that matters. Just like going to a Gay Pride parade -I don't have to necessarily disagree/agree with homosexuality but it is the principles I would go to support. The right to be who we are without judgement and fear, and that is one thing that is beautiful to celebrate.

Last year at the parade, there were lots of kissing firemen and police officers holding hands (while in uniform) -- so maybe that was partly the attraction -- happily seeing people declare their love for each other.

Gee, because PRIDE parades are about a COMMUNITY of CITIZENS who are still being DENIED EQUAL RIGHTS!

MOST who do attend the parades actually DO support the GLBT community.

Sure, there's those who go for the free-bees and there's always the Tiny portion of protesters...but by and large...MOST who attend actually SUPPORT the community.

Don't be stupid or silly. It's not cute and you only make yourself out to look retarded...not saying you are...just sayin.

I know lots of straight people who went to the Pride festival here to get all the freebies they were handing out.

Heck, I went and got two boxes worth of rubbers for free. No more babies! LOL!

I would love to know the 1000 cross-referenced participants that you interviewed to arrive at this figure.
