jeeez everybodies gotta be a smart a%%. at the first of the season i scalp and bag. very low setting and bag it to remove as many weeds as possible. then after the first fertilizer kicks in and its getting good and green, i raise mower wheels, (2.5 inches min), and start mulching because the clippings contain a lot of nutrients. also, there is an inexpensive organic product, i think it's sorghum, you can put down and it really helps the lawn digest the clippings.
other tips. try and not mow grass in same pattern. change up your pattern. keep the mower blade good and sharp. and aereate yard from time to time. some people wear golf shoes when mowing, but i just use a pitch fork and occassionaly go out and poke holes in a part of yard, then do som,e more later...eventuelly it's all aereated. GL with it!

Mulch it. Don't cut too much at one time. The smaller pieces break down faster into the soil and you and your mower will find it easier if you don't have to work so hard to cut the too-high grass. Mulching properly can reduce your fertilization need of your lawn 25-40%. Mulching also helps maintain soil moisture levels in Summer.

remove the bagger and install a mulching blade.by removing the bagger and installing a mulching blade will help in returning nutrients back to the lawn. if you have too many clippings you can always remove them if nessary. also always cut your grass on a 4 inch setting. by leaving it at 4 inches you will cause less stress on the grass because it wont use as much water and nutrients when it grows taller.it will also likely not go to seed so fast if you cut it taller and the new growth will also not be as fast if you cut it taller. also one week cut it in one direction and the following week cut it in the opposite direction this will help it in looking more uniform

Let the clippings lie on the yard and become mulch. The bag is not needed unless you need the clippings picked up.

It really doesn't matter. If you keep the yard cut on a regular bases and the clippings are small then the build up is small, however, If you don't want the dead grass build up in patches in your yard and you are the type to have a (look at my yard) attitude, then you would want to use a bag. The Rubber Duck told you that.

The best way to cut grass is to take away the clippings. You should also thatch your lawn.
Also, when your cutting it you should cut it horizontally one time, then the next time cut it vertically. It makes the lawn look great.

to let it mulch because it provides nutrients for the soil unless you dont want the grass to grow, then go with emptying it elsewhere
