It's been said already, but this passage is widely interperated to be related to alcohol abuse. A metaphor for the addiction.

When I was a teenager we used to play a game at parties called 'Spin the Bottle'. The idea was that you would all sit in a circle, boys and girls alternating and, in turn, would spin the bottle. When it stopped whoever the open neck was pointing to had to be kissed by the spinner. In this song the singer is saying that when you spin the bottle and it stops you can only kiss the bottle because there is no-one else there to kiss. In other words he's playing alone.
Could be a veiled reference to masturbation.

There are a lot of interpretations, the most common being that the song is about drug/alcohol abuse and its harmful effects.
