A pregnant woman complains to her doctor that her ankles and feet stay swollen all of the time. She is very worried about this. As her doctor, what would you tell her?

I would test her urine and blood pressure. If nothing significant I would suggest to try to elevate her feet and have a lower sodium diet.

That happens to alot of women DONT do alot of salt, get your blood check for high blood. Whenever you sit put your feet up. But make sure you let a doctor check you because some people develop toxium (not sure of spelling) which makes you swell, it is harmful to you and the baby.

If her blood pressure is normal and she does not have headaches, then it is probably just water retention. I had that with my first pregnancy. My doctor told me to drink MORE water. Also she needs to put her feet up as much as possible.

If it is really extreme or there is protien in her urine then I would say preclampsia or toximia. Otherwise I would just say the person is eating to much salt and swelling is normal in pregnancy
