They spent 41 million dollars on their bullpen for mediocre pitching...no one wants to pitch in that park. They'll be fighting for last place with the Rays or Jays

It's weird with the Orioles. I was thinking about this earlier today while looking at my fantasy rosters actually.

They actually have a pretty good pitching staff with Bedard,Cabrera,Guthrie and Burres and their offense is quite good. I don't understand why they don't win more. Except they play in the toughest division in baseball and having to play the Red Sox and the Yankees 18 times each drags them down and their middle relief still isn't very good. I don't think it's the manager's fault because the manager doesn't really do that much.

Probably the GM deserves more of the blame for over-paying for a bunch of middle relievers who haven't pitched well for the most part.

I think, like the Devil Rays, they have the potential to get better soon but right now with their record you can't call them a good team.

No, the Orioles are not a good team. They haven't been over .500 for 9 years in a row, and they are already 10 under this year. It's weird because they actually spend money, they just make terrible deals. And, with the Red Sox and Yankees in the division, they won't be making the playoffs for a while.

They have potential but they're very poorly run. To the person who said they'll be better once they get Girardi, he actually declined the job for manager. Apparently even he didn't want to manage the Orioles. Peter Angelos is a horrible owner and until he's out of the way, they'll never hit their true potential.

I think it's hard to judge b/c they play in the second most talented division in baseball. Boston is the best team in baseball. Toronto and NY should have better records and Tampa Bay isn't the same team that has been rolled over in the past. They don't really have anyone up and coming outside of Nick Markakis and they have a very shaky pitching staff. Overall, I think they're the worst team in the AL East and probably 4th worst team in the AL in front of Texas, Kansas City, and the White Sox.

I think they're the best team in baseball, with the possible exception of the Red Sox, Yankees, Jays, Devil Rays, Indians, Tigers, Twins, Angels, A's, Mariners, Mets, Marlins, Braves, Phillies, Brewers, Cardinals, Astros, Pirates, Padres, Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Rockies.

Yes, they have some good players like Miguel Tejada, Brian Roberts, and Nick Markakis, but they cant put all the pieces together. Miguel Tejada is going to be out for a while, with a fractured wrist, and they just fired their manager Sam Perlozzo, and offered Joe Jirardi a job, but he declined it. They have their franchise player in Miguel Tejada, but a team isn't one person. they need other people to step it up. They are in probably the toughest division with the Red Sox, Yankees, and Blue Jays.

No they are not a good team. They have no direction and Peter Angelos does not let the baseball people make decisions.

IF Angelos lets Mcphail do his job, the O's have a chance to compete and be a good team in the next five years. If he doesn't, which will likely be the case, the O's will continue to be awful

not this year....they have some potential but aren't using it...now if tejada really does have a broken wrist then i'd say that the orioles may end up w/ the worst MLB record...or at least close to it

No. They just got off an 8 game losing streak. Good teams don't lose 8 games in a row.
