I just can not convince my husband to turn his dirty socks right side out. He removes his socks by pulling them over his heel, then leaves the rolled up stinky things for me-usually hidden under the coffee table. I tried not doing the laundry but ended up with a whole load of socks!(he will go and buy more) Is this a guy thing????

I think so but at least yours takes the inicitive to go and buy new ones, my husband just paces the house saying "why do I not have any socks?" I usually respond "well hun. There are probably a few in the couch a couple in the shoe rack, and some still in the clean laundry basket. The ones that actully made it to the laundry basket had more hole than sock so I gave them to the dogs, and well thats all 6 pairs" He will NOT buy socks! He wonders why he gets them for christmas.

I wash them as they are. They take longer to dry in a ball but I do not unroll them. I throw them in the drawer unmatched. If he even cares he will locate two and turn them himself..or not..I do not empty pockets either and have washed many a watch and wallet..ooops! Ya see, I work outside the home too so I am just as tired as my man so to be expected to wash and cook and clean and then be ready for "bed" is just too much. If he has a choice: socks or sex..well ya see I am hoping to preserve the relationship..
The first few times he found his wet watch in the dryer..he started cleaning out his pockets..

You must be a tidy person but this kind of thing is really hard to "retrain" unless you are a military drill Sargent or a mother of a preschooler. Hard as it is for you, let it go! There are far worst things he could be doing..like having an affair

Try putting his dirty smelly socks on his pillow every day, under the pillow-case, so that he can smell them when he goes to bed. Put them on a plate before him at breakfast. Wrap them over his unopened bottles of beer if he drinks beer, and so on. After a few days or weeks of this treatment, he'll be ready to make an effort and compromise. :)

Note, however, that smelly feet and therefore smelly socks are exclusively due to fungus on the feet (such as athlete's foot, for example) which exude a stink when mixed with sweat, so get him some fungicide cream to treat his feet and fungicide powder to put in his socks before putting the socks on, and some fungicide spray to spray in his shoes - all this should be done daily - and make sure he uses them as well as ensuring that he avoids using the type of shoe that will make feet sweat excessively (such as sneakers). Healthy and fungus-free feet do not stink and don't make socks stink.

LOL, thank Goodness I'm not the only one. My husband takes them off, rolls them inside each other and leaves them behind the couch cushion or on the floor. I started washing them that way, one gets clean the other is still wet inside the first one, he absolutely hates that. I only laugh and tell him from now on dont leave them that way and you wont have to wear a wet sock!!!

Yes....runs in families too.....my hubby does this and so do two of his kids.....I told hubby years ago that if he wanted clean socks they had to make it to the hamper. Now we've started the inside out thing, and I wash them how they are and then roll them up how they are, no turning right side in.....

My husband doesn't do it. He takes his socks off the right way and he actually puts them into the clothes hamper as he should. Of course, he's an unemployed bum, but hey, his sock habits are awesome!

it's is mother's fault, I hate those mother babies!! Just tell him that you would really appreciate it if he would remember to do this before dropping them in the basket, or write a huge funny note on the coffee table or above the basket LOL maybe after a while he will do this out of courtesy, if all doesn't work, hide all his shoes so he can't go out and buy new ones!
