is it possible to have one computer plugged into the router and then run another in the other room using wireless, as in one plugged in one not, or do both have to be wireless?
one of my computers doesn't have wireless function.

You can do that. Just plug the one that can't use wireless into the ethernet port in the back of the router and then connect wirelessly with the other. Unless you have a really bad router, it will work.

A router's purpose is to allow several LAN pcs to access the internet. If you have a wireless router it also has some wired ports. You can connect some pcs to the wired ports and others to the wired without a problem.

Note that whenever you configure the router you should use a wired connection.

I am running 3 computers off of my router.
2 of them are plugged in and the other, my laptop uses wifi

so, yes it is possible to run more than one puter off of a router

Yes it is possible, in fact, most wireless routers were built with that functionality in mind.
