Personally i think Charleston SC. Its surrounded with history from the Revolutionary War onwards. There is a legend on every street corner. From cobblestone streets to slave markets to the final resting places of several signers of the Declaration of Independence, you never run out of things to learn and do.

Lots of antebellum homes exist in the main square and on the surrounding islands like James Island, Johns Island, Isle of Palms... its worth visit , either online or in person.

I should think Pennsylvania or New York. Or maybe even Washington.... But I wouldn't want to move there! lol.. The winters are very bitter!

If you want Southern homes, then Alabama and Georgia are the most Historic that I know of... but then...

that's just my brain fart! ROFLH

I would suggest either Vicksburg or Natchez Mississippi. They have many beautiful homes and less damage from the civil war. You will experience the charm of the old south with river boats and all. Check it out on vacation.
