take ln of both sides to get:

ln (6^x) = ln (12)

now use log rules to bring the x out in front:

x ln (6) = ln (12)

now divide both sides by ln (6) to get:

x = ln (12) / ln (6)

take log for both sides
log 6^x = log12

exponent rule of log: log a^x = x log a
x log6 = log12

divide log6 for both sides
x = log12 / log6

that would mean converting exponential into log....ok
so 6^x = 12 would be......xlog6= 12

6^x = 12

x log 6 = log 12

x = (log 12)/(log 6)

x ≈ 1.387
