Childbirth is the only "true" woman's job in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I am more of a traditional sterotype female...cooking, cleaning, washing, but I also work, and although I don't have any children yet, I'd be the June Cleaver type Mom. With saying that, I definately do not believe that women have a "role". I am all for women working and persuing dreams and careers. I think there are definately differences in men and women. I don't have the extreme attitude of anything a man can do a woman can do just as well. Not because someone says we can't do it, just because in general our muscles are different, our bodies are built differently, and there are just advantages and disadvantages depending on what job you are discussing. I'm also not saying that there are not some women that are just as capable as some men, and hold down sterotypical male dominated positions. There are always exceptions to every rule. I say this...I believe everyone may be created equal, but that does not make everyone equally qualified.

I've never believed that. I think it is possible for society to make it difficult by creating arbitrary requirements for jobs to ensure some division between the sexes.
For example, I know many men who cannot meet the standards for the fire department. To keep women out of "men's" domain, many men will also be excluded. By contrast, I think some men and women are physically suited for such a job and some men and women are not.
It is generally those who choose to have "traditional" gender roles who run into this problem. Some women are not nurturing mothers regardless of sexist proclamations about 'maternal instincts'.
The battle of the sexes is likey to be waged for a very long time. Men and women both have things to gain by furthering such objectives.

Yes, those jobs that seek traits like compassion, understanding, listening, and physical flexibility would be better served by a woman. In contrast, those jobs that demand physical strength, emotional detachment, and such would be better for men. While some may thing such claims are stereotypical and biased, I would contend that we, as humans of two sexes, have different biological attributes. Men are better at jobs that require brute strength (because the hormone testosterone helps develop such skills/abilities faster in men). Women are better where compassion is necessary (e.g., nurses and teachers). What is important in my distinction is to make sure that each--both men and women--are compensated fairly for their abilities. We find at times this is not the case.
All of this is based in probability, though. That is to say, that while a woman could lift heavy things and some men may be able to be compassionate, the likelihood is less. For example, some jobs require the lifting of 120 lbs.. In such cases, a higher percentage of males would qualify. Similarly, some jobs require great patience--like a preschool teacher--and less men would qualify. Thus, it is that a person's sex influences his/her likelihood of a job but does not completely determine it (in short, it is not necessarily so).

YES!! There are just some things women are better at doing! Soldering motherboards, because our hands are smaller and such things. As an American Indian, I was reared to believe that because we give birth, nurture, and cause things to grow we are like the earth - we even give men the first drumbeat as they lay under our hearts in uteri.
A woman's job is to be a woman, follow her intuition and take care that man doesn't destroy the world.

No not really. It is all what society has taught that should be a womans job...personally I think both men and women should try doing each other's job. Will make the couple more appreciative of each other's duties.

Not really, but I guess a stripper is a woman's job. Oh wait, there are male dancers too.
A woman's job is to be a loving and caring person.
To grow a child from within.
Heck if I know. Just babbling here.

Maybe in the 50s: teaching, secretary, housewife. Now anything can be a "woman's job" Look out men....I think it's great where that equality has moved forward (although I wouldn't consider myself a feminist)

i replaced into spoke of in a feminist age in a feminist enjoyed ones, the tide replaced into turning and adult men have been the butt of all jokes. I from time to time ask your self what this did to my brother and my dad, neither have been suited yet they have been good adult men at coronary heart. additionally i check out my sisters and sweetness whether it has affected their relationship with adult men. Now i glance around me and all I see are the adult men that are/have been saviours. they're worrying, considerate, loving and supportive. I do think of that the feminist circulation did/does have some good issues to furnish adult men, in some techniques it has liberated them to deliver out the greater female characteristics of their nature which in any different case they could perhaps have had to suppress. The feminist circulation might desire to not have taken place if it weren't for the adult men who supported them interior the 1st place, case in point the husbands of the females who starved themselves in reformatory for the main staggering to vote. It replaced into their political capacity that held sway and at last won this conflict for the females.

I don't think so. Anyone can do anyone's job just as well. Male nurses/women doctors. Women get paid less to do certain jobs, but there's no set "job" for each gender, I think.
