Hello all. I am an American who discovered Little Britain on BBC America this year. Funniest thing I've ever seen! Vicky Pollard, Carol (computer says no), and I really like the Fat Fighters sketches. I was just wondering if there are any other British comedies out there right now that are equally as funny. Thanx!

Wow, thanks for all the helpful suggestions! So I guess by British opinion, Little Britain is not the funniest show in the UK right now, eh? Well, I still think it's funnier than alot of the crud I've seen over here lately. Through the miracle of You Tube I will look up the other suggestions you gave me. Thanks again!

I can't stand Little Britain. If you want timeless British comedies then you could do worst than Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Phoenix Nights (although you might not get it). Stand up, then they don't come funnier than Billy Connolly or Peter Kay.
Out now, no British TV is seriously lacking in funny people, either that or I'm getting old

I agree with DC .the Fast Show is where it's at.Some of it is really dark, very english.Any old stuff like Ripping Yarns,Q8,Fawlty Towers obviously.Do you watch Eastenders? If not never mind. You MUST check out Harry Hill's take on it and much else besides. That bloke is a genius. It helps if you know the characters, but you'll probably wet yourself anyway.Look for Harry Hill Eastenders on You Tube

Blackadder series 2-3-and 4 ! Classic English humour that is dateless, and the English version of the office, also the Python films.

Little Britain is AWFUL....
Try something like...
The Office , Jeeves & Wooster , Extras , Dinnerladies , Phoenix Nights , Fawlty Towers , Only Fools And Horses , Porridge , The Good Life , The Morecambe & Wise Show , Dads Army ,
Plenty there to check out....

I love British comedies. Their absolute zaniness (is that a word?) and their deadpan, throwaway delivery just blows me away.
One I especially enjoyed had the word 'serve' in the title, and I'm sorry, I can't remember the correct title. The British version of All In The Family is great, too.
