I already saw 1408 and, yes, you MUST see it right away! I love scary movies and I loved it. It was unpredictable, suspenseful and very original.

It's not gory. Some movies depend on blood and guts and gore to get an emotional reaction from the audience. No, not 1408! It scared you with the unknown, the wondering what would happen next but it wasn't gross. But, definitely, I was gasping at parts! I mean, you could almost see people in the audience leaning forward in their seats eager to see what was going to happen next!

John Cusack and Samuel L.Jackson gave excellent performances! And the things that happened, well, at first you're wondering if it's coincidence or truly something evil then things escalate and you're just breathless wondering what's coming next.

I loved it and am recommending it to everyone. One of the best scary movies that I've ever seen! The other one, VACANCY? Couple at motel with psycho townspeople trying to kill them? You'd have to pay me to make me watch that. The previews reeked.

I will definitely see this movie. Cusack and Jackson provide the star power and acting credentials. Also, 1408 was one of the scariest short stories I've ever read. If the movie is anything like the story, it will be delightfully surreal, freaky, and really good.

Hmmmmm....Love King, Love Cusack....no interest so far in the movie....kinda looks like parts of The Shining BUT if the reviews are great/good I will look forward to it on DVD....Netflix Rules = no rude cell phone talking, wrapper crinkling, seat kicking, bringers of children to inappropriate movie kinda folks.)

Definately! Cusak is the man. I like many of the plots in Steven King's stories. The endings however are usually a different story.

Me! Me! *jumps around*
Stephen King is a genius!

I can't say I've heard of the second movie, though.

i kind of do. i just hope its not the same old plot and ending and just overall story. it gets annoying when hollywood just does the same plot but, wit different characters and settings.
