I wrap up the smelly things in a grocery bag before I dump it in the garbage. It helps a bit. Also, I freeze bones and other meat garbage and only take it out on garbage day.
As far as the diapers go, you could shake the poo off and flush it down the toilet. Bottom wipes could go into a plastic bag as could each individual diaper.
When it is warm outside, I put a scented fabric softener sheet on the bottom of the garbage bag and the top of the bag before it goes out.
I don't feel sorry for them because I have done unpleasant jobs before, as do many people...but I sure do appreciate the work they do and that they keep coming back.

No.You should see some of the stuff they find in the garbage.Rich people throw away brand new things and sometimes the local department stores throw away items because the boxes are discolored or bent. They make out like bandits.I did feel bad when this guy I know reached in the back of the truck to get a toy for his son and almost lost his whole hand.

hey "R", cute pic!!
you're right your trash does smell!! OMG!!
you could try the trash bags that are deoderized.
since my trash guy comes on mondays, i usually clean out my fridg on sundays, that way it doesn't have that long to rot and doesn't smell quite that bad. the kitty liter though is a whole diffrent thing, right along with the dirty diapers, although the deoderized bags will help with those.
Sympathy for the trash guy? Oh yea!

I always feel bad for them Here they have to smell all this crap in a bag like diapers, old food, and other rotting stuff. Man I wouldn't be surprised if they found a dead body in a garbage bag it smells so bad. My garbage collectors just picked our garbage up 5 minutes ago in a small trailer park.

Yes and no, they chose the profession. Many years ago I did leave them a huge hunk of cash as a Christmas present because we had just moved into a new house and had CRAP loads of trash....at the time I felt really bad about that.

Don't worry about them. I feel sorry for for "their" trash collectors. Imagine picking up the trash of someone who already do the job. Has to be 5X worse.

Like many jobs, it takes a special person to do this. No, I don't feel bad for them, I feel grateful! I always wave and say 'thanks!' when the opportunity presents itself.

Yeah, I feel bad too. Sometimes, if I have something really big out there. I'll give them $20 as a tip.
