Hamas won the election by a landslide last year. The people overwhelmingly said that they desired Hamas rule. Hamas has obviously proven themselves a terrorist entity. Even President Abbas called them terrorists and murderers. Fatah wasn't able to hold their own for one week against Hamas in Gaza. So if Hamas rises up in Judea and Samaria, what then? Is Fatah going to hand over the state the international community wants to give them to Hamas? Is Fatah going to be anointed the monarch of that state to prevent Hamas from winning elections again? Hamas is burning churches and killing Christians in Gaza for practicing their religion. Hamas is shooting rockets at Jewish civilians in Sderot everyday, but where is the media outcry? These aren't nice people, but they are the elected government. What does that say about the majority attitude of the Palestinians about people that aren't Muslim? Why should an illegal government (fatah) be rewarded for not handling their business?

Ironically, people call Israel an apartheid state. Hamas won the elections 60 something percent to 30 something percent, so about 2/3 of the people voted for Hamas. So if the 1/3 minority rules over the 2/3 majority......I'm not going to finish my thought......you'll just have to finish the sentence yourself.

tinkerbell......you do realise that you don't have any idea what you're talking about, right? Its Fatah that will go to the "negotiating" table. Hamas refuses to acknowledge Israel's right to exist. They refuse to renounce violence and they throw handcuffed people off from roof tops. If that doesn't mean terrorists and murderers, I am not sure what does. Abbas has connections to the Munich killings. He is a murderer as well. Judea and Samaria is the West Bank. The term west bank refers to the west bank of the Jordan river. You know the divider between the original two state solution called Jordan that represents 77% of the original land given to israel and is mostly Palestinian except for the leadership. Gaza is a Hamas stronghold right now and Fatah is in Judea and Samaria. The factions recently had intercine fighting in Gaza and have officially split into two entities. The west is trying to make deals with Fatah in J & S and isolating the elected terrorist entity in Gaza.

tinkerbell....you're position is clear. You don't care what the west wants. You think everyone else should bow to your demands and the demands of your people. For you, there is no compromise. Either the destruction of the Jewish state or the destruction of the Jewish state is the only answer you'll accept. If you don't care or recognise what your opponent wants, you're not exactly the best negotiating partner, are you? There are 22 religious Islamic republics and about 30 or so more that are more liberal. There is only one Jewish state and exists in 1/10 of 1% of the total Islamic lands and you won't be satisfied until that is 0%. Funny that you responded about churches being burned down, but not the missiles being fired at civilians in Sderot. Hamas has been open firing into the arez crossing at palestinian civilians. If they shoot other Palestinians, why would they hesitate killing christians? Heaven forbid the Christians know your plans for them are same as for the Jews.

cont. Maybe you've heard it said, "first the saturday people and then the sunday people". Is that just a polite suggestion or perhaps a little joke?

It shouldn't...The ones who should be granted a state are Palestinians, from West Bank and Gaza...The people voted Hamas and whether we liked it or not we should have accepted their choice...not apply collective punishment...We should have given them a chances especially because they were ready to negotiate with Israel and even offered them a truce...

Why should US reward Fatah, even if they formed a illegitimate government?Because Fatah would serve their interests in the region...US send weapons to Fatah to fight Hamas, sure it failed in Gaza, but they still control the West Bank...this way they are separating more the Palestinians from Gaza and West Bank...

Abbas calling them terrorists and murderers, well no surprise coming from the puppet of US and Israel...

Hamas "killing Christians in Gaza for practicing their religion. "?????What are you talking about...Stop believe everything you hear...

I didn't said that they are innocent, but coming from someone like Abbas,it's actually ironic...And I could not care less what the West wants,I only care about what the Palestinians want, and they want a state formed by West Bank and Gaza...not two different states just because we have a problem with accepting some things...
As for Hamas, not a fan of them, but when they came into power they wanted to negotiate, come on,do a little effort and remember..They were even ready to recognize Israel,if they would have withdraw to the borders from 1967...

First of all I am not Palestinian and I am not Muslim...Then no,I don't expect everyone "to bow down" to their demands...But now the West is putting conditions for negotiation while the Palestinians are not allowed to have any demand.I for one don't think this is fair and this is not the way they should do it...As long as the West is trying to force the Palestinians to accept their choice, while talking about democracy why should any Palestinian care about what they are saying? " If you don't care or recognise what your opponent wants, you're not exactly the best negotiating partner, are you? "...So yes, about this you are totally right, only that is goes the other way around and the West fails to recognise what Palestinians want and simply force them to accept what we want...And no,the Palestinians do not want the destruction of the Jewish state, they just want a state of their own in the borders from 1967..It's not like they are asking for the moon, right?
"There are 22 Islamic states and one Jewish state..."So your point is?...If your house is too big then start inviting people to take it over and throw you out?
News for you Palestinians =Muslims+Christians...The way you put it we could only understand that you thing Palestinians are only Muslims...

"first the saturday people and then the sunday people". that's not even worth a response...

I was actually talking about more then one truce...and every single time Israel broke them...Killing people on a beach, killing people in Beit Hanoun, killing teenagers in Gaza and West Bank...

Hamas, though represented in their government, are terrorists, flaunting every international treaty known to exist.

So they can attempt to be Iran's puppet government, but cannot be recognized.

Fatah, was granted seats in the same election as was Hamas, but they do need to change. The benefit is that Fatah is not funded by an established terrorist state (yet).

They are less scum bags and murderous idiots than Hamass. Of coarse that doesn't say much for the moronic Palestinian people that would vote in a bunch of murderous thugs. But some are coming to their senses and trying to flee the Gaza Strip in droves.... voting with their feet so to speak

Abbas was elected by the Palestinians.

Hamas attempted a coup so therefore they became an illegal entity.

So yes, Fatah should be granted a state.
