Free Falling is about a bad boy, that doesn't want to fully commit to a relationship and takes great pleasure with little guilt about breaking up and being free once again and feeling Free!
Hotel California is about the "Me" generation and the excess of a hedonistic life, partying, drugging (Cocaine & Heroin)and drinking to excess. Kinda like AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" there is all kinds of innuendo's throuhout the song, such as, Cultism and even a friendly fued with a fellow California band called, "Steely Dan", who they claimed was contributing to the Beastly culture with their music. Don Henley wrote, "They stabbed it with their Steely Knives, but they just can't kill the beast"
Also the album cover is alledged to have Satan on the cover and the Hotel, which is an old Mission, was once used by Anton LaVay and his cult...Not True!

Hotel California touched on many themes, including innocence (and the loss thereof), addiction to drugs, death, the dangers, temptations, and transient nature of fame, shallow relationships, divorce and loss of love, the end results of manifest destiny, and the "American Dream".
Members of Eagles have described the album as a metaphor for the perceived decline of America into materialism and decadence. In an interview with Dutch magazine ZigZag shortly before the album's release, Don Henley said:
This is a concept album, there's no way to hide it, but it's not set in the old West, the cowboy thing, you know. It's more urban this time (. . . ) It's our bicentennial year, you know, the country is 200 years old, so we figured since we are the Eagles and the Eagle is our national symbol, that we were obliged to make some kind of a little bicentennial statement using California as a microcosm of the whole United States, or the whole world, if you will, and to try to wake people up and say 'We've been okay so far, for 200 years, but we're gonna have to change if we're gonna continue to be around.'

The lyrics of the song, "Hotel California," describe the title establishment, a hotel where "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave." On the surface, the song is a tale of a weary traveler who becomes trapped in a nightmarish hotel that at first appeared tempting. There are many urban legends about the meaning of this metaphor. The song was written about the hedonism and self-destruction in the Southern California music industry.
The lyrics of "Free Fallin'," describe a relationship between a "good girl" and a "bad boy." The "good girl" loves Jesus and horses, while the "bad boy" breaks her heart and doesn't even miss her, though some of the later lyrics suggest that he has not gotten over her. Imagery of the Los Angeles area is evident throughout the song, with references to:
Reseda - a neighborhood of Los Angeles
"The valley" - the San Fernando Valley, in which Reseda is located
Ventura Boulevard - a primary east-west thouroughfare in the San Fernando Valley
"Mulholland" - a reference to Mulholland Drive, a well-known road in Los Angeles

Hotel California isn't about drugs. It's about Los Angeles. The fact that once you enter LA, you, 9 times out of 10, never leave. You're sucked in.

I thinks it's about being emotionally and physically free...no strings attatched. Maybe its about breaking up with a girl you really liked but you can't stand to be tied down.
"It's a long day living in Reseda
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard
And I'm a bad boy cause I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin' her heart...
All the vampires walkin' through the valley
Move west down Ventura Boulevard
And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows
A ll the good girls are home with broken hearts"
Or maybe its loving someone but leaving them because you know you're no good for them...He seems kinda of depressed/disspointed with himself at the end, huh?

'Free Fallin'' is about 'normal' people taking 'extraordinary' chances to improve their feelings on life.
'Hotel California' is about the real-life devil's church (The California Hotel) that was created and ran by devil worshipping Antwon Levay (who is standing on the balcony of the album cover, years after he died) who died in 1969 ("...we haven't had that spirit here since 1969...").
