In russia, every month African student get attack by vicious skin head gang.Russian police usualy don't do nothing to help African victims, they take long houres before coming for help.An African student organization directly accuse russian police chief of encoraging skinhead and prevent them before police come.

Russia have very good university and a solid base in foundamental science. Russian schools and universities are also very cheap, more simple compare to big American university network..
Since the communist days, Africans and other third world countries have a tradition to come study in russia. The old communist regim encorage young brain,future leaders from thid world country to sharpen their brain with communism ideology.

Many Africans decided to stay since the 1960 and marry russian women.Many stay and do job that russian can't or do not want to do but russian racist are scare of too much black immigration.

I studied the phenomena of Russian skin heads and Slavic supremacists while planning my european vacation last year. I had really wanted to go to Russia but decided against it because of this reason.

It seems to me that slavic Russians are extremely nervous/scared about whats happening to their people. They have a low birthrate and declining population compared to the non slavic people living in Russia. So they are acting out their fear of what will happen to them in the future by attacking innocent people on the street.

What you guys should do is band together and fight back. Don't just sit there and take it hoping your not the next victim. Get your friends together go find a lone skin head and beat the daylights out of him. It'll send a message.

I have always found the same thing to be very ironic.

So ironic, in fact, that I'm sure that all their ancestors who died fighting facism and starved to death because of Hitler are turning over in their graves every time the Russian neo-nazis have one of their beatings, murders, or Hitler parties.

What the first commenter says is untrue. Every African or Asian person I encountered in Russia (especially male) encountered some racial incident or another while living there. A girl who I know, whose father was African and mother was Russian, moved out of Russia for that very reason. She felt unsafe there.

Xenophobia in Russia is rampant, and it is quite ironic that it comes in the form of neo-nazism.

This is not to say that all Russians are racist, just to agree that it is a real problem.

It is true that Russia's population is declining at an alarming rate and this creates a certain fear and need to protect the "gene pool". Combine this with political problems (bombings and hostage situations with Chechnya, increase in drug use, AIDS, etc.) and the overall tense atmosphere of living there and it results in searching for an easy scapegoat. The rise in incidences of anti-semitism over the past few years is evident of this, too.

As for Sveta's comment about Africans going back to their "godforsaken" countries: some Africans don't have the choice to go back, as their countries were engaged in civil strife during their studies and in many cases, they ended up on the "enemy" side and could not return, for fear of their lives.

Also, I might add that I've known of Africans who, despite the violence and racism that has been displayed against them in Russia, have worked in church/charity soup kitchens dishing out food to Russian grandmothers.

Fortunately, not all people, Russian or African or otherwise, are so blatantly ignorant.

Oh, and another thing - A lot of these Neo-nazi wannabe groups actually do a lot of damage to their fellow Russians, too. I've heard of numerous occassions where they've caused problems/incidents on elektrichki, at subway stations, etc., not just Africans or other ethnicities.

The Nazis were nationalists, ridding the country of the Jewish race. They say the same thing about themselves. They claim they are doing the country good by killing all the "black" people, which are mostly Tajiks.

First of all, the information regarding the attitude of the Nazis towards ethnic Russians (and Slavs in general) is rather vague and prone to be influenced by all sorts of propaganda. I would abstain from making such remarks if I were you.

The facts are that: 1) The Russians were not put in camps simply for being Russian. 2) There were numerous Russians (over 2,000,000) fighting against the USSR on the side of the Axis, even though they were brutally punished for it by the regime. 3) Whole Slavic nations such as Bulgaria and Croatia were a part of the Axis. 4) Even those anthropologists accused of harbouring racist views, such as Hans Gunther, have not treated the Slavs as some special, non-European, inferior race or a separate race at all, for that matter. They're quite blatantly reffered to as Aryan in the Catholic Encyclopedia, for instance. 5) Most German propaganda was simply anti-Soviet, and depicted solely the Asian inhabitants of the USSR in order to liken the Communists to the Mongol horde. 6) Not to mention that the Russians are simply white, which is the most obvious fact of them all.

So please, do stop implying that the Russians should be multiculturalist because their nation constituted a major part of the USSR. There is nothing strange or ironic in a white nation resorting to white nationalism. Not to mention that most skinheads are simply using Nazi symbols because of their impressive, memorable appearance and the effect that they have on non-whites (that being terror), not because they believe that the Germanic meta-ethnicity is better than the rest.

Now, the reasons for the negative sentiments towards negroes (I suppose the OP isn't referring to North Africans) are twofold.

First, African students in the Soviet times were envied, since they were surprisingly rich and defiant for what the ordinary Soviets perceived as freshly liberated slaves. The situation hasn't changed that much, plus they're distributing drugs at an even more alarming rate than the Central Asians.

Second, the Russians are rather upset with the spread of negroes in such major countries as the USA, the UK and France. They find their attitude loathsome, and they do not want their country to share this sad fate. What even the most common Russian finds disgusting is the political correctness that has to surround the ***** in these countries, and the way white citizens have to treat him. Although the Russians are more hostile towards native Caucasians and Central Asians, since the are more numerous, the Africans are perceived as the embodiment of the savage, barely human parasite sucking on the teat of a dying, but proud nation.

Yes, they got their free education and then they went back to their godforsaken third world country. So instead of helping countries that would actually be useful to us, we spent billions of dollars trying to modernize obscure African and Asian countries. Did we gain anything from that? No. They still can't pay their debt back.
Russian Skin Heads have their own theory of who the Aryans were. Their opinion is that Hitler corrupted the whole "master race" idea and that Aryans were actually Slavs. It's not in our right to say who is right and who is wrong.
In addition, Russia never promised to be a "nation of immigrants" or a "melting pot of cultures". I don't think I've seen any African people working in construction or fixing cars. So the whole "unwanted jobs" argument is not true. The unwanted jobs are taken by illegal (and some legal)immigrants from CIS countries, which are usually Slavs (Ukrainians, Belorussians) or Asians (Tadzhiks, Kazakhs) or people from the Caucasus (Georgians, Armenians - although they get well paid jobs selling stuff)
As in many other counties, minorities have a higher crime rate as well, which may contribute to the overall dislike of non-Slav people.
