Do you think it makes people lazy? Do you think its a gateway drug? Or maybe simply because its illegal? Or do you not have a problem at all with it?

Marijuana should be legalized for adults. Tax the living crap out of it.
I prefer it to alcohol - because I've never had someone who is high try to start a fight with me in a parking lot.
Some people get lazy when they smoke it - I usually end up cleaning the entire house.
Some people end up moving to harder drugs - but so do people who start off drinking, and switch to harder drugs - and skip pot altogether.
LEgalize it, tax it, release all of the first-time non-violent offenders from prison (overcrowding problem solved).

My only problem with marijuana is that it is too easily available to young people who are not ready to deal with its effects. It can be a gateway drug for some, but I don't believe that it always is.
If it is used in moderation for medical or recreational use (much as alcohol is) then it is not a problem.
Unfortunately teens tend to become addicted to its effects and use it as an escape from the world around them and yes, it can make them lazy, it can effect their grades in school and their behavior at home.
For adults, who have more experience in life and know better than to use it as an escape from their problems, I see no problem with it at all, and I definitely believe that it should be medically accepted, even if in some cases the good effects appear to be placebo effects. If it helps a person deal with chemotherapy better, and enables them to eat, then who cares if it is all in their minds or an actual effect of the plant?

I don't have a problem at all with it. I personally do not use it, but I'm also comfortable having people smoke it around me. Its not a temptation for me at all. As for whether it makes people lazy or not, I personally think it depends on the individual. That also goes for considering it a gateway drug, everyone is different.

I have absolutely no problem at all with marijuana. I have smoked it for years. I think it should be legalized. But for some reason alcohol is not considered half the problem weed is. How come?
I never read in the paper about a bunch of stoned people getting into fistfights but drunken people do it every weekend. It is very hypocritical to keep marijuana illegal.

I have seen it make people lazy and I have seen it used as a gateway drug. I know two people in car accidents due to being high on it - it makes u stupid just like having too much to drink.

No problems with it here. I work construction and with construction you tend to run into an abudance of people i will call experimentors of modern chemistry. It has been my experience that yes at the time of smoking yes lazines is in fact a side affect but the next morning they are ready to go, the guys who closed the bar on the other hand, dont talk to them til after lunch at least. Even as a drinker, if given the choice i would prefer a smoker over a drinker every time.

It makes me paranoid (wait I dont smoke marijuana).
Its a gateway drug because its illegal, yes its the easier and most abundant thing on the black market and once you have a way to obtain something on the black market, you now have entered a store of abundant illegal substances.

I have tasted the plant before....and I have come to conclusion it should be avoided. The highest you can be in life is being 100% straight. Yes, it is relax causing....but what is next addiction?....or even other drugs such as an opitate like heiron? Opitates get you the most high, but also they will kill you the fastest. The only drug which should be used are certain entheogens for spiritual purposes. Natural ones like mushrooms or seeds, not like acids or pills

It is safer than cigarettes, alcohol, and real drugs. I don't even know if there are any real dangers of smoking marijuana in the privacy or ones home. People die everyday because of alcohol, cigarettes, and other drugs. I don't think marijuana is as bad as people make it out to be

I would not having a problem with it being legalized at all. However, if legalized, it should be regulated just as strictly as alcohol ie the consequences for driving under the influence, how much a person can use in a time period, no use around children or when pregnant, etc.
