Ejecting from a disabled aircraft, or a government funded "bail out" of a company going under such as Chrysler a few years ago or just plain quitting anything.

UNFORTUNATELY, YOU ARE CORRECT, IT DOES IN-FACT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH DRUGS. SPECIFICALLY, IT IS A REFERENCE TO THE AMOUNT OF DRUGS MEASURED IN WEIGHT. AN "8 BALL" IS SLANG FOR 1/8TH OF AN OUNCE, OR 3.5 GRAMS (28 GRAMS = 1 OUNCE) TO CORRECT THE ANSWER THAT SOMEBODY ELSE POSTED, IT IS USED IN REFERENCE TO MANY DRUGS LIKE, METH,WEED,HEROIN,COCAINE, ETC.... NOT JUST COCAINE. HOPE THIS HELPS..... GOOD LUCK AND BE SURE TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT ROAD FOR YOURSELF.

If someone "bawls you out", they let you have it verbally. To fuss at basically. Also: to scold vociferously; reprimand or scold vigorously. Not sure if that is what you're asking.
