I keep hearing that Miami beach has partying. Does this mean you have to be a golden, tight, wild body to feel at home? My boyfriend and I booked a hotel in South Beach. I think it's on Ocean Drive. We're both relaxed, low-key and really are just looking for a place to have fun swimming and basking in the sun; a romantic get-away. Families go there too right, so it'll be okay to just chill? Any advice? I'm so worried because I don't have an idea what it's like.

South Beach is very chill. Miami Beach comes alive at night Thursday-Sunday. But during the day it is a nice chill place to be, lots of tourist on the beach and you can just relax and enjoy the sun and the water. There is a nice mix of tourist and locals on Miami Beach. At night if you don't want to go to the world famous clubs you can go to a nice calm hotel bar or restaurant, just walk up and down Ocean Drive, Collins Ave, Washington Ave, and Lincoln road are the most popular places to be. If you don't rent a car you should just say in Miami Beach, maybe go to Downtown Miami one weekday for an afternoon and that's about it. With a car you could check out the National Parks, Key Biscayne, and a few other interesting areas. But traffic is pretty bad, not the worst but bad. Last night at 12:00am I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, and Miami Beach has the most traffic Friday and Saturday nights from 12am-3am.
Miami a nice city, you will have plenty of fun it has anything you would look for in a tourist destination.

You'll be able to chill since you're right on the beach. I don't recommend renting a car if you want to chill and swim, just stick around south beach. You'll have cool restaurants and clubs to walk to and can stroll along Lincoln Road pedestrian zone and relaax at sidewalk restaurants.
Just taxi or bus from airport to hotel and back.
You'll see lots of beautiful people, but also everything else mixed in, and it's very casual and laid back, unless
you don't listen to me and rent a car and start trying to go all over and chill in Miami's horrendous traffic. Do that next time you come.

OMG, miami beach is crazy fun. You will have fun if you like to just lay low on the beach. The clubs are fun but expensive. Have a safe trip... Make lots of babies!

its great for tourists, its better in the winter when its not so hot and buggy, but the summers are probably going to cost you about 150$ less per night, if you dont mind a little heat and afternoon thundershowers
