That is really too bad. I was gonna put a joke in here, but I feel too bad for the girl. I hope she gets some compensation. Fortunately, prosthetics have come a long way through the years.

I'd really got a big shock as I saw this incident on the breaking news and I had realized that this was the most horrible accident out caused by a 'wire on the drop tower ride' NOT by a silly act. =( It's way too scary to guess the snapped wire gets her legs severed in a flying moment.

Someone told me this, so I'm not sure if it's true, but I think she was taken to a special hospital where she is going to get them .. I don't know. Re attatched or replaced or something. That sounds sick, but I think they will take care of her. And obviously after something like this, Six Flags will have all of their rides checked and rechecked. The cord pulling the ride up snapped. they will fix it, but their income will be low for a LONG time.

Yes I heard about it.. It's terrible... But as far as the rides being dangerous.. isn't that part of the draw.. why people go on them.. To be scared... It was bound to happen and will happen again, those rides are so on the edge.. How many roller coasters have derailed? Stuff like that happens all to often.. the difference is that this time someone got grotesquely hurt which made it news worthy..

Yeah, it's horrible.
I live in KY and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is kind of a dump. I got stuck on a roller coaster called the Chang on my sixth grade beta club trip upside down there. So, I'm not suprised.
I feel so bad for that poor girl. I haven't heard anything about her condition.

That is freaking messed up, but regretfully I am not going to stop riding rollercoasters because of this. Theme parks, such as Cedar Point, (yay) take extra precautions to make sure that this wo't happen. There may have been some sort of computer error, but the probability ofthat happening to anyone is extremely slim. Even though everyone who goes on rollercoasters technically hands their lives to a machine, we do the exact same thing every time we drive in a car.

That is terrible! I have hear about really bad things happening with amusement parks, but....
Recently the Six Flags closest to me closed down. So, if you have a Six Flag I hope you will still go to it. Things like that don't happen enough to not go.

Thats terrible. No, I havent heard about it. The place should be shut down , in my opinion. I would definately bring a lawsuit against them.
This is a prime example that things do break. My hubby works around big equipment, and he sees things break all the time. He doesnt trust amusement park rides.*

I saw it on the news this morning. How incredibly sad for the poor baby girl as well as her family and the witnesses who saw this. I saw that she had surgery, they didn't say if it was to re-attach her legs or not though. Poor baby, my prayers are with her. And yes, I hope they sue the pants off them! I'm not a lawsuit kind of person, but this little girl's life is forever changed because of this.
