In the most clinical sense, no.

The chemicals in the brain that are associated with anger and very different to those that occur when depressed.

There is a very interesting phenomenon when looking at fear compared to excitement. Those are exactly the same in the brain. Our perception is different. Excitement is the positive expectation of something unknown happening and fear is the negative expectation of something happening.

Good explanation....although without merit....There is NO doubt that depression can be anger but it can also be a lonely place. Manic is entusiastic isn't it?

Its not that simple...Depressed people lose hope, and angry people lose control of their emotions...Not all depressed people are angry...and not all angry people are depressed...Do you think the Virginia Tech shooter was depressed?...No I think he was a heart short of a full deck...The scientific explanation is that there are chemical interactions in the brain that determine mood...

you need a medical person to answer that to really diagnose it...but i say if your angry and less enthusiastic about things and just not want to do nothing you could be depressed i think..anger leads to lots of things but why so angry the world is beautiful
