JFK spoke strongly about addressing issues arisen from the cold war in his amazing speech's. JFK spoke strongly, but walked, much more gently, on international policy affairs, than any other Republican administration since that time. His use of American power was very guarded, in a time, that the Pentagon and most conservatives wished to enter a war, at any cost, with Russia. Goldwater, Nixon, and the John Birch society heavily criticized JFK as an appeasor to communism. JFK towed the line well, it was a real balancing act. During the Cuban missile crisis, he was called weak by armed services top brass at the Pentagon, in conversations at the white house during the crisis. JFK used great strength and courage to resist "conservative" forces, and, got us out of what likely would have been a nuclear holocaust, had we invaded Cuba, as every military adviser recommended to him. Kennedy used personal diplomacy with Cuba and the USSR throughout his administration.

Which just further reinforces the point that JFK was a great man and George W. Bush isn't.

Hmmmm, this line was spoken by some, ah, democrat presidential hopeful who was even less of a JFK.

Then again, since Camelot was but a mirage, maybe his words were right on target.

JFK embarrassed our nation and used every lie he could think of to resist admitting US involvement in the Bay of Pigs. If you call that amazing personal diplomacy, balance, strength, courage and gentility, I suppose you may be right on target, also. IF that is what you call it.

Personally, I don't call it that.

Where's the question? Plus, JFK wouldn't last in the white hosue today. He had many well known affairs, but this was before Nixon so people didn't always ask questions about the president and his decisions. JFK went swimming naked everyday with 2 secretaries, who he called Fiddle and Faddle so people wouldn't know who they were. Next time the History Channel shows it, watch the JFK special, you'll learn something about who he really was.

Goldwater, if he was alive. He was friends with Kennedy and he certainly wouldn't think GW was a conservative.
