Yes I found myself doing the exact same thing!

The problem with new is that they (the news people) want to get and keep our attention. What gets our attention is the unfortunate, the salacious and the gorey.

If we see the same story over and over again throughout the day, we respond as if it is happening again and again, all the time. Actually, these unfortunate things are seldom happening. Still too much for us, but actually rare.

The only cure is to stop watching or reading such stories and get out and live, worship and do nicely to others.

Yes, it is just sad what is going on in the world today. Or maybe it has always been like this and we just didn't have access to all of it like we do today with all these news channels and the internet.

I head a woman was told by her doctor, not to listen to all the news shows for a least a month to help her get out of her depressive state. I think if you have a tender heart, it is tough on you to listen. Maybe you should heed that advise. As we all know, there is no good news,,,remember the motto of the media, "If it bleeds, it leads"....they don't report good news.

BTW..I live in Gulfport MS and lost my home to Katrina so I saw first hand, how awful things can get. You Just have to know that God is in control and everything will work out all right for those who have lost loved ones. Someday, we will all be together again if we keep the faith. God never promised us an easy journey, just a soft landing...

Yeah i do feel that way when watching the news sometimes.
Sometimes it can get hard to actually watch. Especially when you hear about the deaths of children. These bastard pedophiles who just need a bullet. But sometimes when those sorts of stories come on you are so shocked to hear about it that you can't take your eye's off of the television.

LOL! You need to stop watching TV!! It's traumatizing you! This is what the media tries to do. They sensationalize everything for the ratings. Every day people die in very severe and unusual ways. It is the way of the world. Get out and live it with out fear! Stop watching TV. God Bless you, you need it most!

omg like everyday. i think that being 17 the least i can do is educate myself about the world around me so i can make better decisions as an adult...i usually rather read the international newspapers online or watch it on tv than just watch my local news...it tens to be racially biased and doesnt inform us on the objective problems very much...i try telling my friends but they would rather go shopping to to the beach with me instead : (

i cry my eyes out just thinking about the genocide in darfur, human trafficking, blood diamond situation, aerican foreign policy, the children that work in the garbage dumps in manila phillipines, etc. even movies like blood diamond, lord of war, an inconvenient truth, munich, etc. make me cry lol i just care too much i guess i dunno...theres so much ppl can do but americans usually dont... "those who know just dont care anymore and those who care dont know"

I think I already am numb by it. It's either about some cynical politics stuff or suffering and killing, for as long as I could remember.

I got pretty sad though reading letters from fallen US soldiers that was publish in a copy of Newsweek.

I usually do when it involves devastation. I cried when the 5 babies died in the house fire when the mothers left them alone. I've been in New Orleans & saw the devastation that made me cry on the news. So yeah, it makes me cry.

God Bless back.

Almost everything on the news makes me emotional. Bombings in Iraq, shootings in schools, searching for peoples bodies, girls being kidnapped. Yes, the news makes me want to cry sometimes too.

Yes,, Poor Paris Hilton was arrested for DUI and sentenced to jail. That made me drop a tear or two. Poor little sexy girl. How can they do it to her. Don't they know any better that she didn't mean it.

...Crap happens around the world 24-7 as we spin around the sun. Every second hundreds of people die from natural and unatural causes. So please live your life smiling and don't waste time feeling sorry for someone you never met.
