pleeez i want some information (but quickly please) about the chemistry of the prodrug..(erythromycin prodrug)
its name is dirithromycin (Dynabac®)..
i need informations about :
the mechanism by which this prodrug convert to the parent drug.,the problems that have been solved by making the prodrug of that drug.,and the route of adminstration...
please i need these information very quickly and i'll appreciate it verymuch...please if u know any web site from which i can get these informations ,please tell me......

The stuff is an aminal that cleaves in mild aqueous acid. it does NOT release erythromycin. It releases a semisynthetic derivative of erythromycin wherein the ketone is replaced by an amine at a new chiral center.
