I would love to see him as our president but he's going to be 72 in 2008 and 76 at the end of his term. That is even older than Ronald Reagan, who apparently aged a lot toward the end of his term.

It's not that he's too old. It's that his health is beginning to fail.

Reagan was a healthy man until near the end of his 2nd term. Reagan would vacation on his ranch, riding horses and chopping wood and clearing brush.

People who hang around McCain comment about his frailty when not out in front of the camera. Reminds me of FDR and how he hid his paralysis from the public. Except in McCain's case, it's overall frailty. I don't think he can handle the pressure and stress of being president. Maybe in 2000, but not now.

He is too old, the unspoken question is whether or not Reagan exhibited signs of his coming Alzheimer's during his administration, and if he did, what was going to happen to the country. If you look back you realize that he brushed off many of his, 'senior moments' and his confusion, as the product of a busy day, now of course its obvious that it was the earliest manifestations of his disease. Not all elders get Alzheimer's of course, but the demands of such a high tension job would seem to call for someone who would be no older than 75 at the end of his second term. And even that's pushing it.

He's not too old, he's too stupid and doesn't care about the fact that 80% of Americans DON'T want the pile of crap amnesty bill they are trying to shove down our throats!

He's also a big fat liar! It came out yeasterday that he was "unaware" that the illegals would not have to pay back taxes. (I highly doubt this but whatever.) He said that he would fix this in the current bill.

McCain personally added an amendment that would only have the prople that apply for a green card & citizenship have to pay back taxes. The amount of taxes is just for the time AFTER they applied. BTW, the "Z Visa" people NEVER have to pay back taxes.

In other words, he lied! It isn't fixed and very little back taxes will be paid!

I feel sorry for John but he is younger than Ronald Reagan. Do you remember the 1964 election between Johnson and Goldwater. If we nominate McCain history will repeat its self.

First of all, he isn't too old, in my opinion. And to Mike2000z, the Bush campaign did not say any of the things you wrote. They did not call his wife a drug addict, nor did they say anything bad about him being a POW. Why is it so easy for people to simply make stuff up that did not happen?!

I'd never vote for him, but it has nothing to do with his age. I'm of the opinion that the war in Iraq was a colossal and disastrous blunder, and that we need to get out of there by yesterday. Therefore, anyone who advocates the exact opposite is someone I wouldn't consider voting for, because this point is non-negotiable for me.

Probably not; if he can do the campaign then he'll be able to continue on as president.

Reagan really wound down after he was shot and that was early in his first term.

72 isn't too old. I know people in their 90's who are very sharp. However, his stance on immigration and amnesty has taken it's toll on him. I doubt that you'll be voting for him in the general election. :)
