who will subsidize the losses that are sustained by the stations who are forced to provide equal time to liberal views?
I don't listen to talk radio, but I also don't think that Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, and Harry Reid have any more of a right to ignore the 1st Amendment than George Bush. (Assuming you believe that the Patriot Act violates the 1st Amendment)

I believe it is just talk. Like the day they said we worked together on an immigration bill that crossed aisles and how proud they boasted. Has anything past? Just election mumbo jumbo in my opinion. If Mrs. WJ actually messes with the air waves she will again deflate her own campaign. I am telling you I am enjoying watching her self destruct this early in the game. Her arrogance, not attacks from anyone else will be her downfall. LOL.
The FCC has limits on these folks in place. They have tape delays and ?? They would have to monitor the owners like Murdoch and bite the hands that feed their campaigns. It's a smoke screen.
Curious? If they do will the Rev's Sharpton & Jesse come down on them for civil rights violations? What do you think?
Thank you.
** Patriot Act makes it possible to jail some of these folks otherwise who get away on loopholes? You think the local Police care if they enter your home without a warrant? Who can afford a lawyer anymore?? Who files a report with Internal Affairs? Goes to the trouble anyway? But the bad guys can and lawyers they get. This protects laws not expands on them. Real life the stuff is already being done. You have to know that?

I say, BRING IT ON!!!
Let them pass the fairness doctrine for broadcasting. Then for every instance of a liberal on the air...radio tv cable...anything, I will demand equal time for a conservative.
It will be the best thing that has happened to the FCC since Riley Hollingsworth took over amateur radio enforcement.

I'm a liberal Democrat, and although I will be supporting Obama/Clinton in the election, I DO NOT go along with Clinton's vow to eliminate/curtail talk-radio.
I don't need Hillary or anyone else doing my thinking for me.
When I don't feel like listening to talk radio, I turn it off.
The power I have over my tuner and volume controls is awesome!

Nah. you be responsive to that if Hillary does get into place of work, it relatively is going to be the Christians to get booted from any radio. each little thing would be only wonderful, it relatively is that in case you desire to chat approximately Islam, or another non secular subject count. although the abode of Rep. is slightly off the concern (and question), it does no longer ask your self you that they observed and counseled the Holy Day of Rama-something. What approximately seperation between church and state? Why is it this way of enormous deal to commend Christ's delivery? i think the seperation element potential each faith ok different than Christianity. besides...people who do no longer believe liberals frequently are people who believe the fact.

there should be no federal meddling. the radio should be driven by market forces. any radio. obviously, we see where the market lies, conservative radio has a huge audience. it is because they cannot find anything of quality to watch on the already liberal dominated television market. i believe that the whole point is, that because stations will have to offer equal time, they have to pay for it too. in turn, they will go off the air because they cannot afford to stay on any longer. liberals will have done their job getting rid of conservative talk radio.
then, we will all listen to state radio....controlled by whomever is dominate in washington! can you say hile hitler?

No one. There will be no political views expressed on the radio - so the stations don't have to give away precious air time. That's the whole point.

Limbaugh lost money for years. It takes a long time to build up an audience. Some liberal talkers make money like Ed Schultz but it took a long time to grow.
Liberals will never censor talk radio anyway so stop crying.

Air America is still on the air. Second, Amy Goodman has been going strong for years and years on donations. However, forcing equal time for opposing views is not censorship; particularly, when using public airwaves. Why are the conservatives in such an uproar over this? It was like that until the 1980's I believe.

They're not censoring what people say on right wing radio, they just want equal opportunity to state opposing views. I'm not sure of the laws around this, so I can't really state the legality in doing that; but no one is taking away anyone's right to say anything. I'm not sure how adding more political voices is censorship...I would think not wanting more political voices would be more like censorship.
