I am starting Law School in a couple months. I am looking for a good laptop for about $1500. I would require 2 gigs of ram and would like a decent graphics card for a laptop and was hoping for at least 2 gigs of dual core pocessor.

I looked at Dell and some other major companies. What do you guys recommend? Is there a better place to get what I'm looking for cheaper? My friend has a 17" HP laptop which he got for about 1500 that is very nice and has lots of cool features.

Anyway, open to lots of suggestions. And if it would be better to wait, I can probably get it in a month or month and a half if cool new stuff is on the immediate horizon.

17 inches is usually only good as a desktop replacement. To much of a chore to lug around campus. A good choice would be the HP 6500. A top seller you can order with all the top options from HP.

I'm not a big fan of Dell, especailly for the professional world. HP does have some good prices, but a 17" may be a little large, if you'll be taking it around with you. since you'll be doing law school stuff, I wouldn't go any smaller than 15"

yea i think 17' would be a little big to be carry around with u from class 2 class. $1500 is not that much if u want a good graphics card and 2 gb of memory but i found an hp that has a dedicated graphics card. u wont be playing high end games but it will play most games. load this computer up as much as u can
