going to forget important things, we have all of our bills and things done, but I need to have a checklist of things to buy at Target. We are going to be able to take our whole bedroom set, so it's not that kind of stuff, more like Kitchen and Bathroom things, also, is there anything that we need to do before we actually move?? Is there a web site with this stuff??

You're just going to have to go with the flow. Get the big, important stuff now (bedding, dish stuff, iron and board, dishes, bathroom and beauty stuff, TP, some furniture basics, bowls and a plastic jug, etc). If you go crazy and get everything you think you need now, you'll end up with a lot of stuff you are never, ever going to use. Trust me.

Just make a note whenever you notice you need something and take a trip to the store every few days/weeks to pick it up.

You have got time to make a list. Just go around your parents house and look at what you think are every day items, and what are items that you believe to be important or necessary to get you through your first week or two. Then as you settle into your new property you can decide on what other items you might need to make you more comfortable. Don't just go out and buy the first thing you can think off or catches your eye. It's better to take your time and consider what you would like and what really works and matches to give you a really nice overall look to your home and not just a hot-ch pot-ch of different styles and tastes.

Don't forget things like screwdrivers, plunger for those drains that can get clogged, nails and screws for hanging pictures, batteries, hammer to pound in those nails to hang those pictures. Talk to your dad and maybe he can give you a bucket of stuff! Flashlights and batteries are always a good thing to have around. Light bulbs, you can never have too many! Maybe a small step ladder would be good .... when you need to change a light bulb. Don't forget to install smoke detectors.... you will need batteries for them .... and check them often!!

You should speak with your Mom (or Dad) about the different cleaning type things you will need, as you probably don't think of that stuff until you actually need it. My first piece of advice is to scrub the joint from top to bottom before you move in anything, that's my biggest piece of advice. Good luck!

Buy a small spiral notepad and carry it with you a few days. Note the things you use. It's those things you use, but don't think about that add up. Salt, pepper, TP, toothpaste, pens and paper, cooking and eating utensils. Cleaning supplies are often forgotten about until you need them. Just a few examples. Good luck.
