1. Turtles use water to relax in, hide in, feel secure in. They do not particularly LIKE the same habitat we do... just like you would not particularly like relaxing in a swamp.
2. Moving turtles causes stress. It does not matter why you are moving it. When we move our turtles, we need to make sure we are doing it for a good reason.
3. Turtles won't spread disease in a house nearly as much as other animals do. Cats spread it with their paws that dig in their litter boxes (fecal contamination), dogs when the rub their anal glands, etc. There is nothing special about turtles and disease.
People who scream about Salmonella rarely know what it really is. For example, the actual disease is Salmonellosis and it is often called 'the 24 hour bug' or 'stomach flu'- it is a short bout of vomiting and diarrhea that usually comes 20-48 hours after eating bad food or touching a contaminated surface and your mucous membranes.
Sure, there are forms of Salmonella that cause bad diseases, such as Typhoid, but these are not the germs we find in the house.

that's completely ok which you will permit your turtle walk around. i could purely the two watch her the completed time, or verify your floor until now hand to make specific that there isn't something on the floor that she could or might desire to devour that could harm her. for exterior, incredibly plenty an identical element, different than you shouldn't ever leave her on my own except you have an enclosure you could save clean. the best theory if she's gong to be exterior nevertheless is to maintain a watch on her, seeing as purple ear sliders may well be incredibly rapid while they elect to be!

My turtle Snap likes to roam around, but keep an eye on them b/c they could eat something unhealthy. Also put disinfectant where ever you play with him at(after you've played with him.).
It may take him a little while to come out of his shell, so don't put that many people around, it makes him more scared.

let them around the house or the yard? i had a turtle once and i let him run around in the backyard, i was always next to him though to make sure he didnt run away and get squished my a car or someting, letting them run around the house, like eveyone else said im not so sure is a good idea. also if you have a kiddy pool[those 1-2ft deep plastic ones] put alittle water in there and let them get their tan on! llol, thats also what i did from time to time

its okay, but they could spread salmonella. and also they could eat unhealthy things like quarter for instince. everyone touches quarters so they have salt from our hands on them. who doesnt like salt. so theyll eat it. so its not the best idea for the well being of you and the turtle.
