Yes, I have, but not a person. I am not being flippant, but I saw two of my dogs die because I had to have them put down. I have never seen a human actually die, though I have seen many shortly after they died. It is an amazing and moving thing.

Yes, I used to work in a nursing home, too. I think that it is a beautiful thing though, to be honored enough to see someone leave the pain of this world behind and to go someplace better. Very peaceful.

Yep. I work with the elderly and just last weekend I witness this woman's husband die. We all knew it was coming. He was bed-bound,really weak and had given up on eating(pretty much a vegetable.)
Sunday came & he seemed to have gotten worse. The wife was telling him how much she loved him & she was upset b'cause he wasn't resonding to her at all.
Then about 5 minutes later, I had noticed he had stopped breathing. I go & look & his color had turned and what little life he had was gone.
Very sad moment. The wife was seriously in shock & just fell apart.

I lost a full-term baby daughter a few hours after she was born to a heart defect. It's not a good experience to watch someone die and it makes you really think about how fragile your own life is, not a fun topic to experience either.

I havent ever seen a person die, but I watched my dog die right in front of me. He was losing blood from his butt, and eventually his mouth opened real big, then he was gone.*

yep. four years ago. someone very dear to me was terminally ill. doctors were almost right on the money as to when it would happen. died about two hours after the first convulsion. very painful for the two of us. the only good thing about it was that she didn't die alone and was fulfilling for me to be there when it happened.

Yeah, it was Sept 18th of last year. My grandpa had a stroke and after that he didn't recognize anyone but my son. He loved my son, before he died I showed him a pic of him and asked him to shake his head if he knew who that was. Instead he took the picture and held it to his chest, kissed it and hugged it again. He said "I know this little boy, and don't you worry ma'am (he didn't know who I was at the time) I'll make sure he's always alright"....I know my son has an angel watching over him and that makes me happy.

I watched a family member die of liver disease. I was with him when he took his last breath. Makes you appreciate life a little more when you witness something like that.

Yes, my father. I was called to the nursing home and arrived just in time to say I love you, don't worry about mom and good-bye. His eyes were pleading to take him home and stop this. I was hugging him as he breathed his last breath.
It is a memory that I will never forget.
