A Texan friend of mine has absolutely advised me not to move to these areas. Why are these places so bad? Can anyone who has lived there and or moved there for a while tell me?

Unless you like to go fishing, I think you will find your entertainment options in Corpus and Brownsville a lot more limited than NY.

Corpus Christi is a fine city, but I would not want to move to Brownsville. But visit Corpus yourself before you make any decisions.

Corpus is better than Brownsville. Corpus is a cool city it;s just that the beach isn't that great but other than that I think Corpus would be a good pick

A HUGE change in your socio-economic environment. No culture, more poverty, etc. Corpus Christi has some nice spots but you are very "limited".

Jobs are usually not worth moving for UNLESS it is to a geographic location that you want to move to.
