Bush's approval ratings just dropped another two points to an all time low of %26.
He is in Nixon territory now who was at %23 in 1974 shortly before he left office.
Even Jimmy Carter didn't drop below % 28 in 1979.

Do you think he will continue to drop in the polls?
What do you think is driving the numbers down?

JOSH, You are ABSOLUTELY Correct !

Dana 1981, I think you are right about the Stem Cell Issue driving his numbers down somewhat.
I feel the real killer maybe the Illegal Immigration Issue.
Even the hard core Bushies are turning away on this one. After all he called the people in his own Party Racists for not backing him on this one. Ouch! thats gotta smart.
I think the Immigration Issue is what is causing his approval ratings to decline into Nixon Territory. I think his numbers may get worse if he keeps pushing this issue down people's throats.

Since he is alienating member's of his own Party over this issue I feel he can go lower than Nixon.
And Dana 1981 is right the worst President in History should have the worst Approval Rating in History as well.

I say he will go beyond Nixon lows, well into the teens. His stupidity is whats driving the numbers down, and you know what they say, "You can't cure stupid".

He probably won't drop much further just because a third of Republicans will never admit that they disapprove of a Republican president, no matter what he does. Heck, Nixon never dropped below 23%, and he was a complete disgrace and a criminal who had to resign to avoid impeachment!

Hard to see Bush getting lower than Nixon, though he has done more damage to the country and world than Tricky Dick. I think Bush will set a new record by hitting 21%. Only fitting for the worst president in US history to have the wost presidential approval rating in US history. If he pardons Libby, he'll take the record.

Bush probably dropped this time because he vetoed embryonic stem cell funding again, which the majority of Americans support. In fact, I'm not sure he's doing anything that the majority of Americans support.

If the GOP would get the F out of the way of the Democrats in Congress, real progress could be made.

Funny thing though....51% to 49% doesn't let the Democrats CONTROLL Congress. I love the ignorance of that statement and hear it 50x a day from too many clueless cons.

Bush is simply trying to ensure the next President is a Dem. I've turned the corner on Bushy. He's done for more us than any Dem ever could.

He is goner just like all, the Repubican party. By his stupid ignorant attitude. His IQ 91, no read, no write. no ride a bike, his is just a nothing that is what is driving his ratings down, if you have nothing how can you expect something

How high did Carter get. Check the same on Bush. Americans are fickle. They approved of the War at over 80% after 911... where they at now. So it doesn't mean much and I sure hope a President doesn't govern based on popularity numbers or we are in big trouble.

He'll continue to drop right on through to 10%, there is still about 10% out there who are lunatics. Let's get rid of some more repubs this time around and give the dems a true veto overriding majority. Then things will start happening.

His ratings will continue to drop, because of his stupid war and his stance on the amnesty bill, I feel so sad for the young soldiers who are dying for this stupid war.hey all you war mongers out there get this THERE ARE NO WMDs.

His whole philosophy has been to Big Business -not to Americans. This is the reason for his continuing unpopularity - only rich corporate interests matter....

Roy could be right. But I think he will bottom out somewhere near 20%... there are still too many desperate to justify their wanting the war out of fear. They will never admit they were foolish.
