It's pointless to be afraid although many famous people were. Picasso, Louis Armstrong. They are now gone and you don't hear them complaining. Woody Allen said he just doesn't want to be there when it happens.

I used to have a real bad phobia of death when growing up, especially since I had never had to deal with it first hand. Then, after becoming a health care worker and dealing with death directly, I began to look at it (and its effects) differently. However, it still frightened me to a degree.

It then all changed last year when I became seriously ill and nearly died from a case of pneumonia and a collapsed lung. After staring death in the face, it made me think differently about things. Not long after this, I also lost my dad and cousin, which was very difficult at the time, however, you have to get over it. Not to sound blunt, but life goes on, you have to help those who are still living.

If we forever grieved those who have passed away, we would never move forward. I'm not saying forget those who have died, you must remember them every day, but try and make the best of what you have left!

Sorry for my little rant. Hope that helps!

It is a matter of comparison for me. When I think of , not dwell on, some of the events that could take place now, alive, it makes my blood run cold. Something happening, I will skip the details I know that you are aware of some of the potential scenarios, to someone I love. My wife and I are old enough now that there are no elder relatives left. That's a scary thought, we're supposed to be the wise ones now !! But we are blessed with two grown children, a nine year old grandson :), and a tribe of nieces and nephews, and the thought of anything happening to one of them scares the crap out of me. The point being, if I can conclude my life with all these kids healthy and happy, dying will be a piece of cake. And the cycle continues.

Yes I am afraid of dying, because when I will die I will be questioned so much about my deeds and currently all my deeds are trying to signal my seat in hell is booked. Another reason why I am afraid of dying is because when I die I will go back to my God, he will have a record of all my deeds and I will get punished because a) I do things which are restricted in my religion and b) I am so low in the eyes of God. I think everyone should be scared of death. Peace out.x

No, I am not afraid of death because I have accepted it as a natural life occurrence. I am afraid if I am facing death. For example: if a man says that he will kill me, I'm not that scared. But if he takes out a knife and puts it up to my throat, then I am scared.

I'm not afraid of death, but I'm afraid of not having enough time, and not being remembered after I pass away. I'm afraid of not leaving an imprint on earth, of just coming and going without really stopping and making and impact on the way.

after 36 answers you probably got the feedback you were looking for, but regardless it's a question i'd like to give an answer to.
yes i am, this life is all we have, it's cruel to think everything and everyone will some day mean completely nothing, but the beauty of death is you don't exist anymore, so it's completely out of your hands.

Yes because uncertainty of where I am gonna end up with. Life for me is a temporary stopover to prepare for life in the other world. I may be religous about this, but the best among you is those who remember it, and prepare about it. We're all hopeful for painless death but nobody has first hand story from the dead to tell us what happened. So whatever curiosity you have, you dont want to end up repenting for what you have not done in this world!!

No, I'm not because there is no reason to be afraid of it! Death is part of the cycle of life; if we start worrying about it or fearing it then we're putting a limitation to our life. We are imprisoning ourselves into an illusion and a paranoia! Live your life without thinking what may happen tomorrow...because what has to happen will happen! :-)
Thank you & have a nice weekend! :-)

Someday, some how everyone is.

And the pain that it cause to think someday we die is enough to kill. It has consumed most part of my youth, to sleep in dark room, to try hard to breath, to shiver in bed, scared of something you know not what it is.

I came over it. But death, itself sound something, I am sure no one look forward to, although everyone knows its right in front of you.
Someday it will just come. More scary thing attached with death is in what face it will strike. But I am sure it will be one moment and everything will be over, and I always pray for those who are almost dead without able to do anything and not even dying.

God bless you
