In th 1920s What was the poverty level? Since the New Deal what has it become? What was the purchasing power of Americans in the 40s, 50s, and 60s? What was the manufacturing output? Todays average minimum wage is less than 1951. What's happening to traditional pension plans? Where is collective-bargaining? Can you easily form a union? If you can research these questions than you'll have an idea as to the contrasting differences of liberal and conservative. Obviously all of the above is libreral. Conservatism is much simpler...it's called Trickle-Down. Tax-cuts for the wealthy in the hopes that it will reach the rest of us. If that doesn't happen, then you at least have the consolation of prayer. Presently that is the reality.

Far left liberals are worse for freedom, far right conservatives are worse for human dignity. It's really up to you to decide which one you think is worse, but I would say the far left. I'd rather starve to death free then live in chains.

Well we have seen how much damage the far right can do.
We don't need to see another extreme to understand that extremes are never the answer.
Moderation in all things still rings true for me.
I feel a more centrist approach would be the way to go.

Far left liberals, like Kennedy, Kuchinich, Pelosi, Kerry, etc. are much closer to Socialism than Democracy. Show me any country in history where socialism has been successful.

All of this system needs to be thrown away and started anew from scratch, the label means nothing, almost 100% of our government agencies are corrupt, and they may fight and bicker over some things, but they still seek monetary gain from lobbyist, big business, and benefit us how?

They both have their worth as long as their ideas are judged on merit and not on the source...

We need tough cold-hearted opinions and empathetic hand-wringing opinions. We then sit down and sift through the mess and take the good points of each.

The moderates are the ones you have to watch. They aren't all bad, but you have to wonder if they support things because they believe in them or just want to please the majority of the fickle mob.

Definitely Liberals.

Most of the laws the far-right Conservatives want passed are pretty much unenforceable, so they can't cause any harm anyway.

Both groups should be given their own respective islands in the South Pacific and leave the country to those of us who are not so rabid and blinded by extreme political stances.

Neither. When you have two sides, there are always two different stories.

There is no happy medium. What's best? Don't pigeonhole yourself in either category and make your own decisions.
