Answering. Answering provides an opportunity to explore one's thinking in a different way. The way that you will ask a question is different than how I would seek similar information.

Some of our thoughts and beliefs don't emerge until we actually make the effort to answer some questions. I have met people who are quite surprised to know that they think certain things.

It hadn't occurred to someone that I spoke with yesterday, that he might not be paying money that he owes to an ex-girlfriend because he wants to stay connected to her. Until he asked the question and until I answered, the information was unknown to him.

I prefer to answer..
I have asked a few but will ask only if I really need help/advice with something...or am curious about something
One of the reasons I like to answer is that I find a lot of young teens out there having some personal or puberty questions and being a mom with much older teens I can relate to their questions.. and reply from what I know..
I try to base my replies from personal knowledge, skill or experience...sometimes I just run into questions that upset me and depending on my mood.. I will answer those also.
As for points.. what are they really good for?
Since I just started here not that long ago.. I really don't know except that it allows you to ask/answer more each day..

answering

I have only asked like 50 questions in 2 years I think

If you check the stats here, you will se that mostly there are askers and there are answerers

I think some attempt to hook up the askers with the answers could be a great thing. Lifetime happy marriages probly.

I like to ask questions more, mostly because I like to learn things. There is also a certain amount of fear when you answer questions that you may be wrong. I also like to just browse and see what other people are asking and what answers they are getting. I just started asking and answering, but I have been scrolling in here for a while :)
