If you spent a little time studying the history of present day Israel, you'd find that it was by the consensus of countries belonging to the United Nations which established Israel, the area formerly known as Palestine was under British control as it had been for decades. It was not and had never been a Nation unto itself with a right of ownership by the occupants. To argue otherwise is to ignore the facts of history which I'll try to explain.
Before the British, the area was and had been under the control of the Ottoman Empire. The point of mentioning this is that there never was a "Palestine" governed by Palestinians. To the contrary, Arabs and Jews had occupied these lands for centuries, working together although the Arabs tended to depend upon the Jews to establish businesses, conduct trade and they, the Arabs, were content to work under these circumstances. You would have to go back thousands of years to the Phillistine era to pinpoint a time when the Jews came into Canaan.
There's no doubt that the British administration was a failure for many reasons including making promises to both the Jews and Arabs which they could not keep.
At the end of WW11, there was a great influx of Jews, many of them released from the concentration camps who came to Palestine largely because no one else would take them in. Shortly afterward, the United Nations created Israel.
But following the establishment of this Nation, surrounding countries, with the complicity of the Arabs, decided to go to war against the Israelis with the express purpose of eradicating them. That was in 1948, you can review the history of that conflict @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1948_Arab-Israeli_War
What these much larger Arab countries didn't count on was that they were beaten by the smaller Israeli forces. But if that lesson wasn't learned, there were three successive attempts.
1956 Sinai War
1967 Six Day War
1973 Yom Kippur War
In each of the above, the much smaller Israel military defeated their opponents.
What it comes down to is that there has never been a complete and lasting peace in Israel since it was formed. But it must also be recognized that the Israeli Jews did not start these wars that were intended to annihilate the Jewish people. That's history, it isn't an opinion, it's simply a presentation of the facts as they happened.
Given the history, wouldn't you be on constant alert to defend yourself?
If the Arabs (Moslems) put down their weapons today there would be no more violence. If the Israelis put down their weapons today there would be no more Israel.
Think about it...

Israel has as much right to exist as a Palestinian state dose.
As for do I believe that everything that was done was OK, no crimes have been committed on both sides.
But Israel is the only side that has stated again and again it wants peace, and a Palestinian state next to it.
when the Arab world is willing to create a Palestine next to Israel instead of Israel their will be peace.

Israel as any other nation n people have every right to exist, this shdn't be an issue. The issue now is what was done to the Palestinians, the palestinians n the whole Arab nation does not want to believe in the existence of the Israel nation, hence the much conflict. If the Arab will recognise the nation of israel i believe the issue will be resolve amicably with little squabbles

Well it exists now and there is nothing we can do about it except accept...and no,I don't think it is OK what was done to the Palestinians...
Unfortunately in 1947 UN took a wrong decision and millions of people had to suffer for this...There are millions of Palestinians living in refugee camps outside Israel and millions living under occupation for 60 years...
There is nothing we can do about Israel now,Israel should stay there, but not like today...Israel must accept the existence of the Palestinian people and allow them to have their own state in who's internal affairs they won't mess...

First of all the Bible does not say you can steal anything so why don't you stop degrading a sacred book to many of us.
There were Jews in the region before the State of Israel was created so it was not like we just moved a million Jews into the middle of Salt Lake City where there were none before. And throughout history Jews have either controlled the region or been significant population in the land called Palestine.
Now something that a lot of people fail to accept or know there were Palestinians working with the Nazis to add the annihilation of all the Jews left in the Middle East to the ones the Nazis were murdering in Europe. Hitler through his agents Eichmann and the like held meetings with Mohammad Amin al-Husayni, Mufti of Jerusalem. He encouraged Hitler to extend the final solution to North Africa and the Middle East. He also recruited Muslims to the SS for Germany. Now as all of us know at the end of any war their are reparations and changes made to borders of the losing countries. Just look at Germany itself which was partitioned at the end of the war. Well due to the Palestinian connection to the German war effort, the State of Israel should of been created.

I don't think Israel should have existed in the first place, but now that it does exist, and has actually citizen who were born there, ect., it can't be erased. The only real option is for Israel to withdraw back to it's pre-1967 borders, and stop committing acts of aggression against it's neighbors. I know it doesn't sound very fair to the Palestinians to let the middle section fo their nation actually be taken from them, but it's been so long there's nothing that can be done now.
And to those who want to call him an anti-semite, take a history lesson you dumbasses. Maybe if you knew a little more about the world then just which nations are full of evil-doers you country wouldn't be in the sorry state it's in.

Israel has as much right to exist as any other country. Its actions following the general consensus regarding its establishment have no basis for denying it statehood. Every other country that has been accused of acting illegally -- from Sudan to Iran to North Korea -- has never had its existence and legitimacy placed under scrutiny -- and neither should Israel.
Palestinian statehood had a chance to come about back in the 1940s, but the Arabs -- as a collective -- rejected it. For the next twenty years the only thing standing in the way of a Palestinian state was... Egypt and Jordan! Think about that for a second.

I won't call you an anti-semite. That is lame to say anyway. You are asking a valid question without racial prejudice. Not every question about Jews means you are a Nazi or Terrorist that should be executed as some would like for you to believe. Here are the facts:
1. Possession is 9/10ths of the law
2. A Country that can defend itself from being occupied has a right to exist.
Israel fits both of those. Thanks for asking these questions though. It does make people think outside the box.
I am of course not entering into any debate on the past. I am using current circumstances to go on. This is all we can do realistically. Any idea of some Israeli pul-out of Israel is non-sense.

They have a right to exist only if they extend the same right to Palestine, and no I don't believe that everything that is done to the Palestinians is OK.
On the other hand Palestinians blowing up citizens via suicide bombs is not OK either.
Telling the truth about Israel is not antisemitic, since the Palestinians are Semites too.
