Not as much as the Repugnant Terrorist Cult, and the Repugnats are radicals just like their half brothers the Taliban, brainwashing and dumbing down the public with Faux Noose.

No, it is not a cult. What it is, is a patchwork of many different single cause groups. You have the Code Pink anti-war crowd, the gay marriage crowd, the Labor Unions, the elderly, the welfare recipiants, blacks, Public Employees, socialists, etc. Most of these groups have very differing views.
The Teachers Unions despise school vouchers, the blacks are very supportive of the idea. The anti-war people run counter to the most labor union members. Labor union members run counter to the desires of the Wefare recipiants. Public employees run counter to the elderly taxpayers.
What holds this together is the misconception that they are all going to get something for nothing from the government. The once great Democratic Party has become adept at fooling these various groups and they have been stringing them along for over 40 years now.
What is missing is any core values that are shared among these groups. What has been substituted is a fear or hatred of republicans. Day after day the drumbeat never ends. The Democratic leaders blame the Republicans for every problem in America.
Now that the Democrats control Congress we see that they had no intention of keeping the promises they made to get elected. As long as they manage to keep fooling them, they can still win some elections. After all, where are they going to go? To the Republicans?
Could well be. That is how Ronald Reagan won in huge landslides. Those Reagan Democrats are still out there. Let us hope they get it right again.

The bias liberal mainstream media handles the brainwashing - and many on the left are radical ..as for the leaders ..just listen to those with the most money ..telling you tales of "big oil" ..as though prosperity is a dirty word - while the richest tell you they are for the "little guy" when they wake up in a mansion and use more energy in a month while telling YOU to cut down..The irony & the hypocricy is out there ..all we have to do is look & listen . I thought Al Gore was being the best example of an idiot after his pompous display , asking us to "take the pledge" & then being exposed for using 10 times the energy of most American families per month - and then REFUSING to take the same pledge himself that he asked of us - but then John Edwards really looked like the court jester when he stated "my life is the little guy"..with his haircuts that cost enough to feed 5 households ..living in the largest mansion in his town..and then building one even bigger ..while he talks down on progress and big money. Some of these guys are in the wrong business . I admit we all need a good laugh - but not at out nations expense . Dems never have a plan ..so they make movies..That's how much they think of their constituents intelligence..They figure 2 or 3 stars must be good for a few votes..I wouldn't say cult - but it's just as calculating if you think about it . I mean ..here you have these millionaires giving their indignant opinions on big business , while they aren't about to give you any of their millions..but they want to take from others to give to the poor - to keep everybody poor..and the only ones prospering are you-know-who !

Yes. Its a tossup between Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, but I would say Pelosi is pulling most of the strings now.
Radical.
Yes. I have a liberal friend who loves to watch C-SPAN all day long. He thinks its much better than the Broadway show "Cats".
My friend is vulnerable because he is disabled, unemployed, and his local Dem leader promises better benefits.

Is this just a political rant? I would like to see your evidence that it is any more of a cult than being a republican or independent.

No, it's a political party. People who you disagree with aren't radical. In fact, I might suggest that based on this question, you seen a little radical yourself (in fact, do you have tin foil on your head? I'd start with removing that...).
