Time for some facts: There is nothing within any reason that will have any effect on an 80 female evangelist. So, do not try any of the normal avenues that would deter her from "bugging" you with her presence and call to worship. As far as the "religious recommendation answers' you have received. Who are these people that think they can lecture you on your relationship with whatever God you choose to worship. So ignore their self serving replies. Now lets get rid of her. You must do something off the wall, completely out of character for you, but legal, to stop her from continuing. A verbally loud discourse may work. Older people do not like rudeness and antics from younger people.

Seems like a retired marine would be able to solve this problem in a more mature way than you suggested.
Why don't you just politely tell her that you have your own relgion or beliefs and are happy where you are. Or, you could give her one chance to come in and talk to you, and maybe you will really learn something. I believe you can learn something from everyone, even if you disagree with their opinion.
Even though I have some pretty strong beliefs, I still remain open minded during conversations.
Like someone else said, maybe she needs someone to talk to and is lonely. Would be great if you would just invite her in for a little snack and conversation. Who knows, she may just be an answer to your prayers in disguise!!!!
I also know it is annoying to have company when you are busy or just dont want it at a particular time, so as someone else suggested, having her come back at an agreed on time would be more comfortable for you and you may even enjoy it. She'll probobly tell you some good stories as well. I love to talk to the elderly.

I used to have a bunch of 7th day Adventists bugging crap out of me all the time. Until I got the bright idea of passing myself off as a devil worshipper (I don't believe in God or the Devil). The next time the group (and it is usually three of them) came to the door, I appeared in an all-tearing hurry, and asked them (with the hugest grin I could manage) if any of them would care to join my coven instead? That we were just getting ready for the sacrifice, and it is SUCH an exciting thing to watch!
They left VERY quickly. And it must have worked, because they STILL avoid my house when they are on their rounds, and it has been more than five years since I did this!!

How bad do you want her to stop. Enough to invite her in, and let her say what she has to say? What are you afraid of, that maybe something she will say, will make you change your mind about something? She is 80, I don't really think she will hurt you. You can always refuse to answer the door. But just maybe, you might want to see what she is so excited about.

Best to either not answer door or just agree and then close door in a nice way.
She has a bead on you for some reason and even though it maybe driving you nuts-be kind. It all will soon stop.

Either tell her firmly you're not interested or dont answer the door. You could get a sign that says No Solicitors Allowed-because technically she is solicitting religion. Dont try the making out-she might think it's a good idea.

She is just lonely. I would invite her in, and let her inform you about the gospel. Then talk about music, flowers, and other subjects in general. You may even get invited to church, and even like it.I would not be unkind to her. You may remind her to call before her next visit. You may just have met a NEW BEST FRIEND.
