I know the Cds was first made in 1979 but what year was there first sold in UK and where was there first on sale?

The initial batch of 100 CDs went on sale in March 1983, with a limited supply of players already available in Britain.

The first commercially available CD album was Billy Joel's "52nd Street".

In the U.K,. CD prices are still about the same as when they first came out. You are invariably better off buying on-line from the U.S. or Europe, even taking in to account postage costs. A CD that retails for £12 here, can be bought from America for £6 (or less) including postage.

I first bought a cd in 1987. They costed then about £15-£20. And £30-£40 for a double album. I still think they are way too expensive even now. We in the uk pay double what they cost in the U.S.

The first one I bought was about 1982 and they were about £15 a go.

in the uk we are ripped off by th price of cds.....america is soooo much cheaper =[[
