I just got my laptop and they gave me a USB cable. I know what it is but I don't really know what it can do. I'm kind of confused on what to use it for.

They probably included it so you can plug USB devices in with it. Like a printer or scanner.

Lots of accessories connect via a USB port, printers, keyboards, mice, scanners, cameras, memory, hard drives......

There are two types of USB connections. USB-A and USB-B. The USB-A is the connection on your computer. The B is the smallish "D" shaped connection that you find on things like a camera.

I've never heard of a laptop coming with a USB A to B cable just for the heck of it. Unless you have an external keyboard or some other peripheral to connect - the only thing I can think of is that this might be a usb extender cable. I got a USB memory module once that came with a USB extender cable. That way I could plug/unplug the memory more conveniently. If one end of the cable will plug into the other end, this is what it is.

Some ppl with older electronic devices sometimes buy adapters so they can plug it into a laptop(maybe 2 hear music, or use it as a power source while traveling). In that case, the makers of your laptop were kind enough to supply a cable, so u donn't have 2 buy 1. :)

USB stands for a Universal Serial Bus, and it can be used to hook up several peripherals to a computer (mouse, keyboard, Wi-Fi finder, thumb drive). The cable can have a variety of uses, and it can attach to several devices. Most computers have USB cables to attach other devices to it.

You can trust me on this, I'm an amateur programmer that can take apart a computer and put it together again in working order.

a usb cable is to plug something into the computer. If your not missing anything or trying to find out how to work something, don't worry about it, it's probably just some extra thing he gave you for no particular reason.

Depends on the otherside of the cable. It can be used for pretty much anything. Did your computer come with a printer? Could be for that.

i'm not one hundred% specific, yet i think of it purely could be LAN! that's a actual connection, it somewhat is in many cases the main good. instant if liable to interference. different systems of connection could be swifter.
