I'm really surprised at the way Dhoni has been elevated to the Vice Captaincy, actually what merited this promotion. He not only has to improve his batting but also his wicket keeping which is awful now-a-days. I see his promotion as Vice captaincy a way to snub Dinesh Kaarthick, who has exhibited his proficiency in both batting and his wicket keeping is also the best as of now.

I think that Dhoni's batting is becoming like Flintoff's, they have been found out by bowlers and do not have the batting skill to adapt their game to combat this, they rely on their eye more than technique which is why i do not believe he will ever be a great batsman like Sachin or Sourav, he will just be a useful test number seven and a decent ODI and T20 slogger.

Only his girlfriend can tell for sure if he needs to improve himself but as far as his batting is concerned he should be tried at the opinion because from what I have seen he can be Indian answer to Adam Gilchrist. As far as his wicket- keeping goes even Dravid is a better of the two.

hey yes i think so that is a good question. Actually the fact is that dhoni is not given a chance to improve If he is given a opening slot them i am pretty sure that he will perform well.

As far as batting is concerned, he has improved a lot. However still there is room for improvement. As far as wicket keeping is concerned, he has to improve a lot.
