Not really...But yeah, society is a mirror and the way people treat us has a PROFOUND effect on our personal development...I noticed that the answers that say a resounding "NO!!!" look like attractive people, and seem to fear the notion that personality can be shaped significantly by appearance...They do not want to admit that their "attractive personality" is mostly a side effect of their attractive appearance, because they were born with it and this way, they "created" an attractive personality...But the truth is our physical appearance wont tell you what kind of personality we have (and the older you get, the less looks apply...we grow out of it,) but it can give you a pretty good guess!
"largely determined by circumstances, life's experience, environmental influence, your upbringing, & your outlook in life "
Circumstances, experience, environmental and parental treatment, and outlook are ALL AFFECTED BY HOW ATTRACTIVE PEOPLE FIND YOU! Its inescapable...

No definently not. Humans are born with temperament like the foundation of a house. This never changes but can be slightly adjusted with time. Throughout life our experiences help to develop what is called out personality. So in some ways the experiences we have regarding out outter appearance will come into play but it is how we were born and what we have learned that does it.

No, personality is determined as a consequence of two elements that are part of one process.
Prior to birth, one has a Fate Karma that was determined at the close of ones last life. At ones birth, ones MIND, Apapsyche [Operational Energy of ones Soul], and the MINDs of ones parents are combined to create a personality that will "fit" the needs of ones Fate Karma.
This creates a body of negative energy that Freud referred to as the "Id", and I refer to as the NS-I [Negative Self-Image]
The NS-I consists of a number of intensely negative misperceptions taken-on by ones MIND and deeply repressed within ones MIND realm. The MIND is not ones brain, by the way.
As a consequence of internal dynamics and external interchanges, ones "personality" is developed... based on the subtle dynamics going on within ones MIND realm at a fully non-conscious level of awareness.
What I have explained here will be found in the soon to be published book: Death of Psychology That Nobody Noticed, and probably no where else... except my website: .

Here is a different answer for you; I think our appearances are sculpted to our personalities. How we present ourselves are very much affected by our personality. You don’t get born with a tattoo and there fore you love rock music, you love rock music and got a tattoo. Your personality decided to get a boob job to change your figure and your personality decided to be cleanly shaven and sheik instead of not shower with dreadlocks.

.....Looks have absolutely nothing to do with it. Appearance is external. Personality is internal...formed by your habitual way of thinking and acting. These patterns are ingrained in the neurons of the brain. No, you can't tell a thing about a person's personality from the way they look - not a single thing.

i think it's a personal decision. some people let others opinions of your appearance effect their personality. others adapt to their clothing or even play the role of a stereotype suited to their look.
I think it takes confidence to get out of the inclination to let your appearance influence your personality.
